Babjis Review - 1998 Nissan Maxima
By Babji - October 9 - 10:00 amThe vehicle is really fun to drive. You love it when you overtake other vehicles at traffic lights and after tolls. One can really enjoy driving this vehicle. The contol of the vehicle and the road grip is pretty good. Though, the sound system claimed to be the premium quality, you would not find it extraordinary. The vehicle shakes a little when there are gusty winds.

Competent sports sedan - 1998 Nissan Maxima
By tdisalvo - September 20 - 10:00 amThe Maxima satisfied many of my automotive needs. I needed a sedan but didnt want it to be ugly. I needed japanese reliability without sacrificing performance. I needed a 6- cylinder engine AND a manual transmission. I also needed an affordable price. The Maxima fills all of my requirements and does it with style. Nissan builts character & personality into their cars, something Honda/Acura should look into. Go test drive a 5-speed Maxima, youll see what I mean.

Bulletproof - 1998 Nissan Maxima
By Doc - August 19 - 4:10 pmIve owned quite a few cars in my days, but this is the best! The Maxima is not only bulletproof, but it is easy to mod if you are into that. Dollar for dollar it has to be the best car on the road. My 4th gen is still a timeless style. I love the giddyup this car has when I dust those Honda ricers who want to play. Not your Grandmas grocery getter!

Most bang for the buck - 1998 Nissan Maxima
By maxpa - August 15 - 2:00 amIve owned the car for 2 years and put on 40,000 kms in that time. The best car ive owned. The HP and torque make for snappy performance and the interior is luxurious and comfortable. The driver side airbag module was replaced under warranty (~$500 CAD), and the alternator was replaced under a recall. Other than that I havent been to the dealership for anything.

By Love it! - August 6 - 7:33 amThis is the second Maxima I have owned. Just bought the 1998 GLE with all the extras, side airbags, climate control, etc, tan leather and pearl white exterior, fantastic car with 118,000 miles! Took my car to Vegas (900 miles) and never got tired of driving it! Thanks, Nissan!

Masterpiece.. Best in its class.. - 1998 Nissan Maxima
By DoN RaB - July 6 - 8:06 pmI bought this car with 55,000 miles in 2004. I now have 112,000 in 2008. Rock solid performance from this vehicle. No major mechanical problems to date. I will take this Maxima to its grave. This car will take better care of you than your own mama! Get the fully loaded model and drive it as far as you can. I do regret not getting the leather, sunroof, woodgrain, and digital ac. But those upgrades are all optional.

Great Car - 1998 Nissan Maxima
By John_Denver - June 12 - 7:40 amIve only owned mine for a year and put around 19k on it but its been a free ride so far. I have the 5 spd. Agree with someone else who complained its not the easiest to drive smoothly but no complaints otherwise. I love the reliability (nothing has failed) and quality of materials/workmanship. It gets around 28 mpg and has plenty of power. Third gear is my favorite - it just keeps pulling. Suspension is a little soft - it doesnt track like my old 318i or GTI but sure is nice on the highway. I plan to drive it a long time.

Excellent Daily Driver - 1998 Nissan Maxima
By kwamdoo - May 14 - 10:00 amI appreciate the sporty feel that the car gives you eventhough its a four door sport sedan which feels as quick, nimble and agile as some two door coupes onthe market today. Im not as tall as many men, but extremely wide across my shoulders. This car seememd to support my wide frame with its wide and supportive seats, rather than having my shoulders sitting out without any support like many other vehicles in its class. The interior design of the controls is somewhat bland, but all and all, is very easy to access while driving.
