Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Bought the car 1 week ago to replace a perfect, but aging 2002 Lexus ES 300. I like to sport look of the Corolla S and thought I would be sacrificing a lot but not really. No heated seats, no leather (in my model) and no 6 disc CD changer but thats about it. Gas mileage is excellent and car is more than what you would expect to get, with the price tag. Really liking it so far and I know this car will be burning gas down the NY roadways for many, many years to come.

  • Beware sunroof installation - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Seats R bout as mushy as your Dads old recliner.Warning: if U can wait for a Toyota-installed sunroof do it.Dealership told me the only way I could get 1 w/ the sunroof right away is to get it installed by the company they have a contract w/.They assured me quality would be just as good.(Sucker) The headliner near the rear window flaps in the breeze.I took it back to get fixed & its a little tighter but totally different f/m headliners in the non-sunroof Corollas.Havent seen a Corolla w/ Toyota-installed sunroof yet & really want 2 know if there R headliner issues in those.Just hoping the headliner wont be sagging in a few yrs like an 85 Lincoln.

  • A first version and need improvement. - 2003 Toyota Corolla

In general, the car is great, nice looking, good handling, comfortable and a lot of room even in the back seat for the new generation giant kids. I own also a Volkswagen Jetta and I must confess that Toyota really impressed me with this new (Lexus made) Corolla 2003 it is finally reaching a step ahead its competitors. GOOD WORK!...

  • Dealer - Factory - who did it? - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Bought 03 Corolla new Aug. 8 - Aug. 26 noticed rust on quarter panel at trunk. Trunk was hitting L/H Qrt panel when closed & chipped paint. Aug. 29 toyota dealer (not one purch. from) inspected vehicle, said it had been repaired. Took 03 back to Team Toyota, Lithia Springs Ga. They had fact rep. look & he agreed car had been repaired. Toyota denies having anything done at factory or shipping. Dealer denies same. On Oct.3 took car to Team Toyota for defective Radio repl. During the radio repl. dash wash badly damaged by mechanic. Oct.16 and vehicle is still at dealer.

  • Safety issues - 2006 Toyota Corolla

Good mileage, some noise, average maintenance costs; youve heard it before but rarely are there reviews on how it stands up to impacts. Bought it new. Only issue was the check engine light that was part of recall. Dealer fixed it for free, it was good for a week then light came back on. I had about 96k when I was rear ended by 02 Toyota Camry on freeway. I was stopped when he hit me at approx 40mph. Vehicle buckled out instead of in. Exterior damage seemed minimal, but once we looked at the frame from below, it was totally bent. I was told metal went up through floor of rear seats. Good thing I only had groceries in back seat instead of my kids. Fluke? Who knows. Had to post

I use this car to commute but i live in sf and in traffic or breezing on the freeway this car fits the bill. Gas mileage is awesome and trunk space is big enough to hold all my gear. This is my first Toyota and the reputation of it being a great reliable car is accurate. 3 years on the road and zero problems. Oil changes every 5000 miles and im on my way again. They are ubiquitous on the road but there is a reason for this. If you need to commute or you just dont want to think about your car... this is the car for you.

  • Quality - 2005 Toyota Corolla

This car has left me on the side of the road. The computer (ECU) needed replaced. The window molding is a joke and coming off. It makes a cow sounding noise running at about 35 mph or breaking. Always is hard to start. The quality has slipped on the Corollas.

  • Fun little car - 2010 Toyota Corolla

My parents helped me buy this car used when my truck started costing too much money for inspection each year. While I started out a truck man, and still am to this day, I love my car to death. It is very fun to drive. I get excited to drive it even several months after I bought it. The 5 speed is nice, however there are a few quirks with mine. The clutch pedal squeaks (quite loud when the windows are down and at a standstill), and the shifter also squeaks when I am shifting into first and second gears. Also, sometimes the back window rattles when the radio is on (volume and bass are both not very loud and it still vibrates). Overall, I love the car and will keep it until it dies
