Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Purchased new with 17 miles on Odo. Currently at 74K miles. The main electrical fuse blew once when car new cutting out all electrical. Replaced in no time by dealership. Car has never needed even a single repair since other than oil changes and new tires. Only two things will survive the end of the world. Cockroaches and Corollas. Seats not supportive for O/N driving. Otherwise nothing to complain, everything to applaud. This is what a car should aspire to be.

I love my corolla! Its fun and easy to drive. The car handles well, gets 30 mpg routinely, has cold ac, and the JBL stereo is great. I think the interior dash design could be upgraded, but thats my only complaint. With the reliability of Toyota, Im sure I will be driving this car for many years to come.

  • The Best Car Ive Ever Owned - 1994 Toyota Corolla

This little Toyota wagon is a jewel. Ive got 160k miles on it and it runs as well as the day I drove it home. I, too, had to replace a water pump in the first year or two of ownership and also had a leak in one of the CV boots in the 3rd or 4th year. Other than that Ive only had regular maintenance done on the car and replaced normal stuff when it wore out. It is the perfect size and gets good mileage with an automatic transmission. The only thing I would change is I would like a little less road noise and a little smoother ride but then its not bad for this price car. My friends with big maintenance bills for their BMWs and Mercedes are envious!

  • It gets the job done! - 2009 Toyota Corolla

My wife totaled our 2006 Corolla LE. Decided we wanted another Corolla but with a little sport. So we purchased the S Model. Car looks sleek and aggressive. I agree with some posters that the paint needs to be more durable. Like maybe 3 or 4 layers. Gas mileage is incredible and you have to love spending about $30 dollars to fill up the tank. I wish though the seats can be adjusted in more different ways and the steering feels at times a little artificial. Other than that, Id buy another Corolla.

  • Good MPG for the long trips to the city - 2008 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I purchased this car in 2/08 in Tempe AZ and save about $3K instead of buying it in ABQ, NM. Im getting about 38.5 to 41 MPG a week. Car is great on gas and has low engine noise. AC works great and came with most of the options of the LE (i.e., cruise control, tire pressure sensor, power locks and Windows variable speed windshield wipers etc). Good suspension and no interior problems. Seats fold down and tons of trunk space. It been a good little car.

  • Rattling Noise, MPG not up there - 2009 Toyota Corolla

Ive had my Corolla for one year now and have driven it approx. 7,000 miles. I enjoy the car overall but there are some things that really annoy me about it. The panels for the side curtain airbags rattle and it annoys the bejesus out of me. It comes and goes. I have also recently noticed some more rattling noise (again, comes and goes) from the back area of the car. The gas mileage I get driving around the city isnt as good as advertised. It appears to be more like 25 for city driving and 30-33 on the highway. This was my first economy car. Being 63, I fit pretty comfortable in this vehicle. The engine is very quiet and has some quickness for being a 4 banger.

  • I think about selling it - 2007 Toyota Corolla

This is my second car - I bought a new one in Nov 2006 (my first car was an old Mitsubishi Galant, which I drove from 60K to 100K miles). Actual mileage (city + some freeway) = 25 mpg. The battery went dead at 6K miles, after I didnt drive for 2 weeks. The car has a good ground clearance, but when I drive on a windy freeway, it feels like the car is going to be blown away. Not enough power entering a short or ascending freeway on-ramp.

  • Very pleased - 2010 Toyota Corolla

For the money this car is fantastic! The 1.8 liter engines has plenty of get up and go (I was surprised!) great breaks, handling is light and steering was quick and accurate (made it kinda fun to drive). The seats are comfy and theres plenty of room inside. Stability and trac are standard! This car feels more substantial the you might imagine. Low road noise and very absorbent ride, all help make the car feel like quality.

  • Best Car Ever - 1996 Toyota Corolla

I sold my 96 Toyota a week ago & already miss that car. It was very dependable and I even drove it to AZ and back. In the 11 years I had it I only had two problems. One was electrical wiring & the other was my gas tank was punctured. I prob. hit something but once these repairs were made it was back to its dependable self. I wish I still had this car and when I placed an ad selling it I had numerous calls & sold it within 4 hours for 200 less than asking price. If you need a reliable car this is it! Dont hesitate to buy. I have a big family now & it was no longer practical but I sure wish I couldve kept it.

  • Great Car to drive - 2003 Toyota Corolla

The PLush out look and neatly placed interior are unique in TOYOTA styling. Also incirporating all major features as Standard in pricing has made deciding the price more simpler and can easily be compared with other simillar vehicles. After taking a test drive one is convinced about the Toyota name backing its quality proucts
