  • Great car, dealership and service sucked - 2017 Honda CR-V

You can get a good deal, but the base model is very simple. No bells and whistles, but it will get you where you need to go.

  • Packed with features, few complaints - 2017 Honda CR-V

Adaptive cruise control and lane assist make for frighteningly leisurely highway driving. One step below self-driving. Android Auto integration is amazing. Ive been using Android Auto on my phone in an air-vent mount for years and this is just light years better. The feature list for the price is impossible to beat. Drives nicer and with a LOT less road noise than my 2009 CRV. A few minor complaints. Why in the world is the USB port with the data connection only 1.5AMP? There are two 2+AMP ports in the back, but the one that will be used every single time the owner gets in the car doesnt get turbo charging? Bizarre decision. Road departure protection has a tendency to trigger randomly when on less-than-great roads. So far Ive been dealing with it and resisting the temptation to turn it off because I know if I turn it off its likely to stay off and then it wont be there for me when I need it. Occasionally the computer says my phone isnt connected when it is and only unplugging/replugging will fix it. It has plenty of power for average commuting, I have so far never been tempted to turn off Eco mode. Averaging about 31.5 MPG without really trying and using Adaptive Cruise Control heavily.

  • Disappointed in safety features. - 2017 Honda CR-V

This is our third CR-V in a row. Traded in our 2015 model on a 2017 CR-V Touring with every option on it. The 2015 had only 25,00 miles but I wanted the new safety features since my wife drives it withe the grandkids frequently in it. We have driven it 4,000 mile including one vacation trip which I drove. Despite the new turbo powered engine, it still feels underpowered to me, like our 2015 model did. It seems like you have to push too hard to make it get up and go, but admittedly I have been spoiled by my Toyota Tundra with a big V-8. The safety features are a big disappointment, since I bought this just for them. The front brake assist only works if the cruise control is on. If it is not on, you get only a big orange warning light on the dashboard that you are too close to the car in front of you. The Stay in You Own Lane assist, as I call it, will fight you if you use it (you can turn it off). It actually steers the car for you which is very annoying since you will be holding the wheel doing your own steering while the car wants to steel slightly differently. Lord help you if you want to change lanes without signalling. Then the wheel will vibrate to let you know what a law-breaker you are. My last complaint is the memory seat. If I run around doing errands, the seat memory button has to be pushed every time I get into the car, even if I was the last one to drive it. Most memory seats I know stay set until changed by another driver. Summary, we really like our CR-V, the cargo space, the reliability but hate the safety features. We should have kept our 2015 model and saved money.

  • Impressive! - 2017 Honda CR-V

Just, wow! Picked up my 2017 CRV Touring 4 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. As soon as you slide in, the super cozy interior just makes you feel at home. Super comfortable, supportive seats with power lumbar support, attractive dash and control layout, soft materials everywhere, and a fantastic looking wood trim with a matte finish that looks like real wood. Overall, really high quality interior. The back seats have tons of leg and head room, plenty for a 6.2 friend to sit behind the driver. Rear seats are surprisingly as comfy as the front ones, with plenty of softness and leg and back support. The cargo area is huge for this sized SUV! I can fit 6 mountain bikes with the rear seats folded down, which is another big win win to me. As far as styling goes, its definitely up to you to decide what you like. You may like the looks of another car better, but remember youll always be sacrificing something. With this car, the interior sold me. I still dont hate the exterior though, it definitely turns heads (not in a bad way!), and Ive gotten lots of compliments already. It looks modern, funky, stylish, and definitely has personality. I have zero complaints with this car so far! Do yourself a favor and test drive the CRV. You wont be disappointed!

  • Good so far but not great - 2017 Honda CR-V
    By -

Our CRV is only three weeks old. We have put around 2000 miles on it so far. We have found much to like, the fuel economy is very good. There is a lot of cargo space and the visibility out from the drivers seat is excellent. It has decent acceleration and holds the road well. Weve not had the chance to drive it in snow yet, but that is coming soon. We also have found some things that we are not so crazy about. It is reasonably comfortable but the seats are certainly not luxurious. The worst disadvantage is the noise level in the cab. At highway speeds, the road noise drowns out the sound system . The drivers display is pretty complex and can be VERY distracting when things get busy outside the car. There is no way to turn the lights off completely, if the engine is on, the running lights stay on regardless of what the driver tries to do. When the rear seats are folded down to increase cargo area, they dont fold flat, so its not real convenient for hauling cargo. The rear hatch collects dust (we live 25 miles from town at the end of about 10 miles of gravel road) and the exterior finish is the worst Ive ever had for electrostatic attraction of road dust. The warranty is a bit anemic. 35,000 bumper to bumper and 75,000 power train, but were banking on the Honda tradition of excellent durability. Overall were satisfied with the vehicle and would recommend it as basic, utility-type transportation.

  • May new Honda CRV EXL Is Somewhat Of A Disapointme - 2017 Honda CR-V
    By -

My new 2017 Honda CRV EXL is somewhat of a disappointment because : A. It didn’t come with roof rails and crossbars, B. Back window on rear hatch doesn’t open, C. I don’t like there climate control , when using autostart during the winter at times my fan speed that I set on high does not always engage on high. I’ve called Honda Customer Service in the past about goodwilling and installing new roof rails and crossbars and the person I spoke with could care less telling me that it was my problem. All CRV’s should come with a roof rack especially if the rear window doesn’t open.

  • Good bye 13 CRV EX-L, Hello 17 CRV Touring - 2017 Honda CR-V
    By -

I took my wife to the Auto Expo a few months to look at all the new cars. Big mistake! We saw the 17 CRV and knew that would be in our garage soon. It was a no brainer for me. The 13 that my wife drove was a spectacular car, very low maintenance, excellent ride and very comfortable on long trips. The only ding against it was the lack of power below 5000 rpm. Problem solved with the 17 CRV. The little 1.5 Turbo is a sweetheart, its a bit loud on full throttle acceleration, but the torque around town makes it easy to get around slower and distracted cell engaged drivers. The ride is super smooth, and the steering is to die for. The new interior is much roomier and the seats are greatly appreciated for my glass back. Tall drivers will love actually having enough legroom. I am 6ft 2 and have plenty of legroom in the front and back. Lots of technology not found in any vehicle in its class. It is a lot of car for the money, Honda is back at the top of the game again!

  • of all the SUVs Ive had, this is the best - 2017 Honda CR-V
    By -

LOVE the mileage - getting 30 in town! Much better than my 2010 ford escape which I owned previously. Comfortable and fairly quite. Enjoy the heated seats but was driving over the holiday (outside temps in the teens) and it took a while for the interior of the car to warm up. Love the fit and finish, the interior, the outside color and grey interior, etc. The only real issue is that I have had a problem with the rear wiper - the bracket is broken and Ive lost two wipers in the past month. The dealership has been good to replace but Ive called them about getting another replaced and hope they will not only replace but fix the bracket in which it fits so I dont lose another.

  • Just what you expect from Honda - 2017 Honda CR-V
    By -

2017 redesigned CRV is right on the mark. I highly recommend the EXL model; it is loaded with the latest technology and features. The safety features are one of the main reasons I purchased a new vehicle. The CRV is practical, economical yet fun and easy to drive. Expect to enjoy this vehicle for many years to come.

  • Better than I expected. - 2017 Honda CR-V

Car rides more like an upscale SUV. 2017 updates are excellent. I compared the CR-V to Mazda CX-5 and went with the CR-V for extra cabin space ESP trunk area. This car is so much fun to drive. I love the technology and Apple CarPlay.
