This Year's Model Updates:

The 2013 Hyundai Sonata receives a minor shuffling of features among trim levels. Most notably, the base GLS model's manual transmission is no longer available, as a six-speed automatic is now standard throughout the lineup.

Pros:
  • Stylish and comfortable cabin
  • Lengthy warranty.
  • Lots of standard and optional features for the money
  • Top fuel economy
  • Strong acceleration
Cons:
  • Distinctive styling affects rear headroom
  • Rough ride in SE trim.

I have been in the auto industry for 30 years... from Toyota to Porsche.... This car is TOPS for the money. Fun to drive... Great fuel economy! (better than posted) From Dallas to Tucson on a tank and a half. Comfortable on long road trips! Dont wait for re-fuel to take a break.... TOO LONG! Hyundais customer service has been exceptional. Buy gas and drive.... and after a year and a half Im still ecstatic. Im used to a new car every 4000 miles... so this one is GREAT! After reading some reviews, I think the ball was dropped on the Dealer end.

Only had it 5 months but so far it has been nearly perfect. Limited visibility out the back and some road noise (not all of it bad, nice little engine hum); lower gas mileage but have taken no long trips and my commute is a nightmare so maybe MPGs are OK. Got Limited turbo with premium package and cannot imagine getting a finer car for the money I paid. Rides well; handles great; very fast and responsive, I love this car.

First of all I had a 2011 Hyundai before this one ! Now, I think this is a great vehicle ! I love the heated leather seats! Plus the Blue Link app is great to have in the winter! I have the sun roof which I would give up for either the rear camera or navigation! The gas Milage around town isnt the greater but great on the highway ! I am keeping this vehicle after the lease but will buy another in the future!

  • Beautiful Car, but....... - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

I love the car. I work with Dealers from All over the world. ( I do NOT work for a Hyundai Dealership) but I do work with dealerships from every vehicle type on the road. The only draw back is the passenger seat sits low. They need to put an adjustment control on the seat just like the driver seat. Im 58" & driving so I didnt notice it until my sister who is only 51" said I cant see out the front window, so I gave her a pillow to sit on. My Father is 63" & he sat in the back seat with no problem at all. He said he had enough room to stretch out his Long Legs.

This is my second Hyundai and I love it. The SE turbo with paddle shifters is both fast and comfortable. A great travel car but still fun during the daily commute. Sexy and sleek. I will never buy anything but a Hyundai.

  • I hated to trade it in - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

This was my first Hyundai and I was very impressed. The only reason I sold it was because I needed a truck. 3 years of flawless performance. No squeaks, rattles or disappointments at all. The only time it saw the dealership was for oil changes. Id buy another Hyundai in the future.

I really love my Sonata, turbo. It is very stylish and gets great mileage. I drive to the Jersey coast during the summer, its a flat, straight drive at 65 MPH standard which means everyone drives at 75. I can get 37 MPG at 70 MPH in cruise control. Ive checked this a half dozen times already. Im positive this will improve with a K&N air filter. Its very responsive, can hardly hold it back. I thought Im really going to get in trouble speeding on I-95 with this car but so far I lucked out. Love the price and warranty. Last car was a 07 Tucson which I also liked but not the mileage. Owned it a year now and no problems. Two thumbs up and a smile.

Bought new about a week ago. So far, the biggest disappointment is the sound from the stereo. CDs, Radio, Sirius all sound less thanb acceptable. There is a general muddyness that is going to result in having to invest in an aftermarket stereo. Other negative is the "ride" is somewhat bumpier than I am used to with my 09 Accord and 06 Camry. You really feel every bump. Hoping that "breaking in the suspension and tires will help for Positives are: layout of dials, controls. Nice the parking brake lever is not in center of console. The car performs well on turns, pick-up if fantastic (I do not use the "eco" mode). And the car is very sporty looking (I got it in black with spoiler)
