This Year's Model Updates:

The 2013 Hyundai Sonata receives a minor shuffling of features among trim levels. Most notably, the base GLS model's manual transmission is no longer available, as a six-speed automatic is now standard throughout the lineup.

Pros:
  • Stylish and comfortable cabin
  • Lengthy warranty.
  • Lots of standard and optional features for the money
  • Top fuel economy
  • Strong acceleration
Cons:
  • Distinctive styling affects rear headroom
  • Rough ride in SE trim.

  • Great car - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

smooth, economical, and a great ride. Would buy again. Highly recommend. Bought from a dealer that was the easiest to deal with in 30 years of car buying. [non-permissible content removed]

  • Waited 5 years to buy this - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

It took totaling my previous car to be able to get this one. Design in 2011 took auto design by storm. From Chevy to BMW everyone over the past 5 years have changed their design to similar to the Sonatas aggressive slant forward design. I have only owned the car for 30 days, but have really fallen in love and only found minor little irritants and nothing that is difficult or a problem. All of the dash design and electronics are very intuitive.

Ive put 24K miles on my limited turbo Sonata and I like it even more than when I bought it. Its fast, comfortable, gets great gas milage and...most importantly...so much fun to drive. I would definitely buy this car again.

  • Engineered - Built Great / Gas Mileage Sucks - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Love the car, however, my heavy mini-van with a V6 gets almost as much mileage. Only other complaint - I have been trying unsuccessfully to get the dealer to repair the AC.

  • Excellent car for the price! - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

I traded off a fully loaded 2011 GMC Terrian for this car and have owned it since May 31, 2012 and enjoy driving and riding in the car. I own the limited edition without the turbo and very impressed with the horsepower under the hood. After reading some of the other reviews of how the car is sluggish, paint coming off the car, makes me wonder who is writing the reviews. After going from a V6 in the GMC to this car, I was impressed with the power. The interior of the limited is comfortable and spacious and has plenty of leg room. The car rides quietly without any road noise. Good car for the money!

  • Best car I bought so far. - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

The Hyundai Sonata is exactly what I found for the price I paid. It has an amazing, engine and great power. Its spacious and reliable. I dont know what others people are writing about the bad mpg. When I drive, I get 26 city and 33 on highway. It gives me more mpg than my wifes Camry. But this all depends on how you maintain the car and how you drive it. If you go crazy on the gas pedal and dont do schedule maintenance, of course you are going to eat more gas and get bad mpg. People need to go easy, a Sonata is not a sports car. Overall, the Sonata is a great car that offers more for the money than its competitors. For my next car, I will definitely buy another Hyundai.

  • Sonata delivers - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

The 13 Sonata rang in nearly $2,000 below similar Camry and Accord offerings and after 4,000 miles its a solid thumbs up. Interior materials are upscale with soft-touch surfaces where expected. Although windows are short, the cockpit seems airy enough and visibility remains good fore and aft. Controls are simple, well-placed, easy to operate, legible and have good tactile feel. Most guages are fine, however the speedo shows numerals only in 20 mph increments and the infotainment display is disconcertingly hard to read day and night with fuzzy images on a dim blue background...simliar to a thermostat. All seats are comfortable, and there is plenty of room in back with a spacious trunk.

  • Sonata keeps getting better - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

This is my third Sonata, a 2007, 2010, now a 2013. Each is better than the last. I have the Limited with the 2.0 Turbo. It is as fast as the old muscle cars, but smoother and more conomical. Interior is nicer than in the past, dash layout is good and the instrument panel lighting is very sharp. Seats are comfortable and both front and back are heated. Compared to my V-6 Sonata, Im getting 3 to 4 mpg better milage and with better performance. As for reliability, none of my Sonatas ever needed warranty service. The style is better than cars costing twice as much. Every time I park next to a luxury car, I still prefer the Sonata styling and the high quality of the pain

  • Snazzy car! - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

I don"t know where or how these other drivers are driving, but my experience has been much different. We just got 35 mpg on a road trip of 1600 miles and I never get less than 29 combined. We have a limited version and couldnt be happier. Nice job Hyundai. Wash. state driver
