Overview & Reviews
With new standard 15-inch alloy wheels, standard side airbags and some option changes, Hyundai's 2000 Sonata maintains the same base MSRP as last year.
- Excellent warranty, stylish sheet metal, lots of bang for your buck.
- Noisy four-cylinder engine, breathless V6 engine.

Bang for your buck - 2000 Hyundai Sonata
By Palman - June 18 - 2:00 amMy Sonata has been great. I havent had any major problems. It is a joy to drive. It is comfortable and has a lot of get up and go. Im always approached by strangers who tell me that they love the styling and wonder how happy Ive been with the car.

Disappointing... - 2000 Hyundai Sonata
By Kristy-) - June 6 - 2:00 amCareful when considering the purchase of a Hyundia. Read the warranty restriction very accutely. At 60,000 miles be prepared to pay upto $1500 in basic service maintenance to keep the 100,000 miles powertrain warranty effective. (Timing belt must be replaced every 60K!) I have owned 3 hyundias Tiberon, Sonata, and an old Excel. It might be a great value up front but carefully calculate longterm operation costs and depreciation.

Hard to Believe - 2000 Hyundai Sonata
By Nanette - April 19 - 2:00 amIts amazing that I love this car as much as I do. I have always been a foriegn car owner because the car needs to be able to handle 200K miles in 5-6 yrs. with no major problems. So far my Sonata is living up to it. The engine isnt "peppy"...its powerful! The body and general feel of the car is solid and the handling is smooth and precise. Sincerely thinking about trading in my Mazda 626 to get another Sonata!

A Great Car - A Great Surprise!! - 2000 Hyundai Sonata
By prlhrbrkid - April 4 - 2:00 amWhen I first took a test drive I fell in love immediately. The handling was smoothm the shifting was easy and the ride was comfortable. An the power - at 170 HP it purred and was so smooth. I love this car. Gas mileage could be better but is it comparable with others in its class. The styling is great and I would favorably compare it to the Honda.

I Dont Like My Sonata - 2000 Hyundai Sonata
By kaybella - April 2 - 2:00 amI will be taking my Sonata back to the dealer for the 4th time (only 17,000 miles as of 4/2/02) to have them see if they can fix the squealing/sqeaking noise they make every time I step on the brake. Im tired of hearing from the service department that this noise "is the nature of the Sonata" Ive already written and e-mailed Hyundai Motors Corp.

Twice is to much - 2000 Hyundai Sonata
By Dick - March 12 - 3:10 pmTransmission went at 78,000. The 2nd Hyundai Transmission to go. Have a 96 Accent & also lost a transmission after the 60,000 mile warranty. Just $2000. The last time and especially from this dealer. They could care less about your business. You might as well drive it until it croaks. You could not get a decent trade on a Hyundai if your life depended on it. Most dont even want a used Hyundai on their lot. Give it away or drive it until it drops.

Very pleased - 2000 Hyundai Sonata
By Wisconsin driver - January 31 - 4:54 pmMy wife and I have owned our GLS for 2 years now. We have had absolutely no problems. We are very pleased, to say the least. We were looking at the Camry and Accord, but opted for the Sonata. We could not be happier.
