No styling, content or trim changes for the 2000 Honda Civic. The performance-oriented Si continues for 2000, and there have been paint comings and goings: Taffeta White has been added to the CX and DX Hatchback, and Dark Amethyst has been dropped; Titanium Metallic comes to the DX, LX and EX Sedan, and Vogue Silver is gone. Vintage Plum is now available to the LX and EX Sedan, and Inza Red has been eliminated.
- Roomier than many cars in this class, agreeable levels of comfort in any trim level, powerful Si engine.

Excellent Used Car! - 2000 Honda Civic
By williamssd - July 30 - 2:09 pmI purchased my Civic EX 2dr 5sp used at the end of April, 2002, after graduating from college and getting my first full-time job. I drive a lot (had 22,000 on it from original owner, I now have 144,000). I have not had a single problem with it. I change my own oil/filter/spark plugs/MT fluid, but other than that I only go by what the manual says for maintenance -- astounding reliability. The engine still does not burn oil (none that I can tell with regular checks). My fuel economy during the summer stays near 36 mpg with a mix of city/hwy driving. Since relocating to Bullhead City, AZ, I have noticed that at its age the extreme heat does decrease acceleration and the AC.

2000 Civic Si ROCKS! - 2000 Honda Civic

The highlight of the car is the VTEC engine, reportedly a result of Hondas involvement in racing...oh, so thats why when you get on it, it sounds like a NASCAR stocker screaming down the backstretch at Watkins Glenn. This car make sounds that are very pleasing to the auto enthusiest, but may be annoying to others. The transmission is so smooth and there is hardly any lean in the corners. This car is hard to drive slow. Even with this excellent performance, the car gets 26 to 31 mpg.

Great Car - 2000 Honda Civic
By Joe - June 14 - 10:25 amI chose the ex because it comes with a v-tech engine and just about power everything. This car drives great. The suspension is tight and gives you confidence around sharp corners because it keeps you firmly planted to the ground (yet it still has a smooth ride). The cars steering is tight and responsive. The engine could use a little more power although it has more than enough power for every-day driving. The v-tech engine is amazing when the v-tech kicks in at 4500 rpm until it redlines at 7000 rpm. This car also has excellent visibility. The air conditioning is ice-cold, and the controls are nicely placed. With a big trunk and fold-down back seats, this makes a great car for everybody.

fantastic car for the money - 2000 Honda Civic
By tracy - June 10 - 9:11 pmI bought this car new. had it for 6 years now, driven it for 186,000 miles. Ive only had to do standard maintenance on it, nothing has gone wrong. I plan to buy another civic when and if this one wears out. Fabulous car... go honda.

Still going Strong - 2000 Honda Civic

I am the original owner of my 2000 civi Si which is has 89,000 miles now but it is so awesome that I get great gas mileage and can still run with other cars, the only thing i have done is lower it and a little mods here and there but other than that still runs beautiful and oh yeah no probs with it either. I change the oil every 3,000 and tune-up every 30,000 and it keeps going and going and going. If you are looking at this car to buy used and u pass it up u r a fool. going on 6 years now of owning it, dont plan on selling it. if I ever do, it will be real hard! Bring the new Si. Still wont stand a chance!

Excellent Form of City Transportation. - 2000 Honda Civic

Although my first 98 DX model had some problems with (lots of cheap and fragile interior plastics), everything else outweighted all the negative aspects. My 2000 EX, which patched DX flaws with quality interior and added lots of nice power features including 127hp engine. Two years later, I CANNOT find a singe thing to complain about. Overall, Honda are ideal vehicles for those folks who like to spare their nervous system from factory recalls, getting stranded on the roadside and spending tons of money on parts and labor.

You Are All Being Fooled! - 2000 Honda Civic
By Billy-B - April 19 - 12:26 pmThis car has had more than its fair share of problems. Should the door lock break so you cant even open it up from the inside? How about the fact that the windshield has never sealed correctly, or even better how any time it rains the car just refuses to start. I also love the fact that O2 sensors and the original muffler lasted for a whopping 50K miles. Still under 100K and I am praying it doesnt die completely before I can get rid of it. Honda reliability... it must be a joke.

I love my civic - 2000 Honda Civic
By Vic - March 16 - 9:21 pmIts size is perfect for a smaller person, I love the way the dash board looks, and I got it in vintage plum. Since then I have come to appreciate the reliability that Honda provides. Even though I live in the NE where we get winter 6 months a year it has always started. It is the perfect size for a small family or a college student, I practically live out of mine sometimes! Seats 4 adults comfortably, 5 at a squeeze (if they are small). A great car to learn to drive stick with, it is very forgiving.
