Overview & Reviews
No styling, content or trim changes for the 2000 Honda Civic. The performance-oriented Si continues for 2000, and there have been paint comings and goings: Taffeta White has been added to the CX and DX Hatchback, and Dark Amethyst has been dropped; Titanium Metallic comes to the DX, LX and EX Sedan, and Vogue Silver is gone. Vintage Plum is now available to the LX and EX Sedan, and Inza Red has been eliminated.
- Roomier than many cars in this class, agreeable levels of comfort in any trim level, powerful Si engine.

Much worse than expected - 2000 Honda Civic
By Lomompopizde - May 10 - 2:00 amWhen I bought Civic I expected it to be as or more reliable than my previous Mazda Protege and Nissan Altima. I was proven wrong again and again. During the first week I had problems getting the ignition key out. It was a rather typical problem for auto LX sedans. Many times the rubber ceiling on the windows detached and Honda could not fix it. The paint is plainly bad, normal driving results in one paint chip a month. I also did not like at all how doors deform by half an inch when you open a window. Engine is so noisy that only loud music can save you from it sound. I was really happy to get rid of this car.

Okay car for the money - 2000 Honda Civic
By Houstonian - March 10 - 4:33 pmIt was a good deal for the money, although it needs oil changes, etc. or it gets "fussy". For a small person its fine, but for a "larger person" its cramped. The gear also sticks sometimes when in park, not allowing you to turn the key and remove it from the steering wheel.

Could have been better - 2000 Honda Civic
By Hondamechanics - December 5 - 10:00 amHonda quality has been negated by the poor workmanship at the Ohio plant. While the car runs well, there are a few visible spotty workmanship evident by unflushed fenders/headlight. One biggest annoying thing: getting in and out of the car is the most uncomfortable experience in using the car: the car is way too low!!!

ALWAYS BROKEN DOWN - 2000 Honda Civic
By notahondafan - August 16 - 10:00 amI bought my civic because I needed a car that would provide reliable transportation with good gas milage. My civic has had nothing but problems. I will list them: ECU (Computer) replaced three times, transmission replaced twice (the car is one its third transmission!), and starter. Currently the car is having a fuel pump problem that two different dealerships have been unable to diagnose. Since the prerequisite for this car was reliability I am getting rid of it as soon as I get it back from the dealership.

Not so good - 2000 Honda Civic
By justaperson - February 21 - 10:00 amI have my Civil for almost 2 years, havent driven it much until recently I starting working outside of the city. Had a small accident. The car I hit had no damage, but my civil was awful. It was a small hit in the front but Im estimate to pay 3 grand to get the hood and the radiator frame to replace. And now that Im on the highway all the time, the car does not pick up fast enough. Its too slow for my opinion. Overall, the car is reliable and performs well for what its worth, but the build quality is awful. A slight hit, and youll see major damage on your car. I would not buy this car again or recommend anyone to buy a civil.
