Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Dont ever buy the accord. - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I brought this car because I needed something good on gas and not 30,000 dollars. - the rear brakes went bad at 40,000 miles - the front bumper stated sagging down from the Hood and headlights - cant get over the road noise. I blast the radio every time I drive it. - the car nudges when acceleration like the car not getting enough gas. Does have good power over 3500 rpm. - the seats are hard. Back hurts after long drives. Feels like you are sitting on a blanket with a piece of plywood on top. I thought when I brought it the seats would break in over time. Not this car. The seats are as hard as the day I got it. Now has 80000 miles on it. - chrome paint on grill is flaking off. Paint on hood started comming off. Looked like it was bubbling underneath the paint then every time I washed it I loosed paint. Has the hood painted at 50000 miles. I still cant get over the hood getting painted. I mean every time you get in the car and look out the window you always see the hood. - overall I still own the car. I wish I sold it to a couple who wanted it more than I did. Ive had Hondas in the past. But this one has the be the least one I like. The others were a 1986 crx. That was the most fun Honda I ever drove. It was fast good on gas everything. Next was a 1996 accord. It ran and drive fine when I sold it. Nothing went wrong with it. All said and done. For new honda owners test driving a car does not tell you everything. I know a lot of cars have the good things and the bad things about them. I brought my honda because at the time were the best selling cars. It looked cool sporty and in my price range. My 1990 mustang looks better and had no problems like the accord. But I dont think Ill buy another Honda. Ever

  • Eats OIL - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Beware after 50.000 miles this car started using oil . Last oil change went 750 miles and used 3 quarts of oil . They did extend warranty because of this problem but good luck getting them to honor it. Just search oil usage Honda. They say one quart for a thousand miles is normal. Also say to let sit 15 min before checking . If there isnt oil on stick when you pull it out it isnt good . The oil pan is the reservoir for the engine if it isnt there the engine isnt getting it. I would really think twice about this car before buying . I was a GM Pontiac mechanic so I do know engines and cars.

  • Dont buy unless you like bumpy rides - 2015 Honda Accord
    By -

I cant wait the end of this lease to get rid of this 2015 Accord. I replaced my comfortable 2011 Accord with this new cheap design. You can feel all bumps and cracks on the road. It drives like a donkey. In long trips, you shake all the way and arrive very tired and annoyed. Dont buy unless you like bumpy rides.

  • Absolute Garbage! - 2011 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my 2011 Honda accord ex coupe automatic at a Honda dealership in Oct. of 2015 certified used with 37k miles. The transmission has already started to grind gears, accelerates on its own when at a red light as well as oil burns extremely quickly. This is an almost new car owned by an older couple who traded in for a Honda Crosstour. This car is poor in every aspect and I will NEVER be buying a Honda Again! Going right back to Dodge, not Honda garbage.

  • Honda Envy - 2010 Honda Accord
    By -

Keep hearing radio ads for Honda where they talk about Honda Envy. I have Honda envy when I see people driving Toyota or Mazdas. My brakes went way before any car I have owned in 36 years of driving. I have to add oil every 1500-1800 miles. The dealer is telling me going down less than a qt per 1000 miles is industry standard! Be warned.

  • Worst Accord Ever according to my mechanic - 1998 Honda Accord
    By -

I had this car some years ago, the V6 model was a bad one for them. I think they made the engine too big for the transmission or something like that. Beyond that, there were a bunch of electronic problems. I think the 98-02 model was just bad for the V6 automatics, I cant speak for the 4 cylinders.
