  THIS IS A VERY USEFUL, DEPENDABLE AND ENJOYABLE VEHICLE - REQUIRES ONLY STANDARD MAINTENANCE. HAD 30K WHEN PURCHASED 2 YRS AGO NOW @ 82K, BUT DRIVING HAS BEEN SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED THE PAST 6 MONTHS DUE TO LOCATION MOVE.

  We had the car 6 years without problems except for needed shocks frequently and the air conditioner condenser broke twice in the last year of owning.Brake pads needed replacing often and the 4 wheel drive was not reliable.

  Good truck very dependable. ONly problem i had was a sensor going out on it and it now has 152000 miles on it and is still running good. I hope it makes it to 250,000 it is a really nice truck.

  The roomest SUV for cargo. Find that at 85,000 + miles and counting, it has served me well. Like any vehicle, you need to take care of it with regular maintenance

  Interior door panels - all plastic - crack and break under normal use - door handles fall off, engine leaks oil at 70000 miles despite routine oil changes, oem brakes, mastercylinder and front suspension all replaced at 80k mi, engine does not hold compression when pulling my boat - 3400lbs - vehicle rated with 5000lb tow capacity - No Way!!

  My 94 explorer has 104K miles, I think it is finally broken in! After 90K I seemed to get the best fuel milage. Also after changing out the shock to Edelbrook IAS the ride and handing improved 10 fold...

  Supprisingly this vehicle is still running great. There have been only a few minor repairs, but all in all this vehicle has served well. Major repairs with a used vehicle: brakes, fuel pump, bushings underneath causing squeaking. I have read and heard a lot about these vehicles having numerous problems, but I am here to say I must be lucky, cause it has been a great vehicle to drive and own with almost no problems. Purchased at 72,000mi, still going at 130,000mi.

  Ive owned this vehicle for 45,000 of its 86,000 miles. It just keeps on working. Nothing serious in the way of repairs (MAF sensor, A/C hose, tires, brakes), just normal wear and tear. Rides like a truck (duh...)

  Very comfortable - lots of space inside. Great for road trips. Of course, not great fuel-economy, but no SUV does well in that category.

  My first and perhaps last SUV. The 94 Explorer handles poorly and fuel economy is non-existent. It seems to have been designed to do nothing very well.
