Love my truck - 1994 Ford Explorer
By D. Simmons - February 24 - 4:56 pmPurchased my truck with 186000 miles. It now has 262000 miles on it. Ive had to replace the computer, rad.,blower motor, frost plug and window clips. It now needs a transmission. I still love my truck. It has been a very reliable truck. It has been used by all members of my family. I am sad to finally give up my truck. If I could I would replace the tranmisson. Thumbs up to 1994 Ford Explorers.

Great Truck - 1994 Ford Explorer
By Josh - February 14 - 11:28 amI bought this truck with around 230,000 miles on it wondering what i was getting myself into. This truck is great. Great in the snow, always starts, great sound system, lots of cargo room, feels like Im sitting on a lazy boy driving around, it is so smooth. The car has also aged gracefully. I had to make a few minor repairs but that is to expected with such an old vehicle. The gas milage is not great but you cant control gas prices. I love the truck overall and it is still going strong after 300,000. Im going to hold on to this truck as long as I can. The front seats have so much room so much better than riding in a 2010 sardin can.

1994 Ford Explorer - 1994 Ford Explorer
By Joe60152 - August 6 - 12:32 pmI bought this truck right after high school and it has been very reliable. The only problems ive had are the ball joints which ive done twice along with the right radius arm bushing that like to get hard, fall apart and make a really annoying squeaking noise due to it being so close to the catalytic converter. I suggest if replacing Napa makes a high heat style bushing i put 2 regular bushings in 50000 miles before finally replacing it the last time with the high heat and have not had a problem in 80000 miles since. I have had no major problems with this truck it now has 245000 and it still runs good on or off road

Great Midsize SUV - 1994 Ford Explorer
By smack650 - July 12 - 11:15 amI have been nothing but happy with my 94 XL V6 Explorer. Take care of it and it will take care of you. Great in the snow, on the beach, or in the mud. She has 148,000 miles on her and she runs like a champ. Ive never had any problems although I have heard about transmissions going out after 100,000 miles so I changed all the fluid in the tranny, and the torque converter when I hit that mark. I will probably change it out every 4th or 5th oil change (which I do every 3,000 miles like clockwork) from here on out.

Great Car If Maintained - 1994 Ford Explorer
By Cesar G - May 24 - 5:07 pmI purchased this car in 1995 from a private party. The car now has 235,000 miles and is still running strong. The only problem that I had was changing the starter besides that the regular maintance.

1994 Ford Explorer - Great SUV - 1994 Ford Explorer
By Greg - December 16 - 12:12 pmWe bought our 1994 Explorer from my wifes uncle and it has been outstanding. I keep thinking I should replace it with a new model but this one is so good I just cant bring myself to do it. My son loves driving it to college so who knows maybe in another year or so we will replace it...even though I doubt we would really need to do so.

94 - year of the BEAST - 1994 Ford Explorer
By Hartman - December 12 - 9:31 amI have heard negative things about Explorers but in five years have not experienced them. I get 23 mpg hwy, which makes it the perfect travel car on my Ohio-Tenn trips for school. It conquered everything I threw at it as an immature 1st time 4wd owner (seriously Im surprised this car is not stranded in a certain mudpit in Middle Tennessee). The most comfortable car, will haul it all, routine work - brakes, belts, etc. is dirt cheap (and I am a poor college student!). I have 155,000 on it now, a third of which is my doing, without a headache. As expected, transmission wear was easily solved with Lucas trans-fix additive. An $8 bottle has worked miracles for 17k miles.

Best vehicle Ive ever had. - 1994 Ford Explorer
By steve - October 17 - 10:49 pmMy 94 Explorer has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. When it had 144,000 miles on it, I drove it cross country, from CA to NC, hauling a load inside. It now has a little over 148,000 miles on her, and she runs like a champ. Small windshield leak, and axle seals are staring to go, but other than that, an awesome vehicle.
