  • Do your research! Wouldnt recommend the new Civic - 2016 Honda Civic

Let me tell you a story of a man who bought a brand new 2016 Honda Civic Touring on 12/15/16. Since they day I have had nothing but issues with this car. Out of the past 80+ days, my car has been in the shop 50 of those days. My bluetooth does not work, my infotainment screen goes in and out, the emergency breaking goes off randomly, etc. I have 29 issues all together with my new car. The first 2 Honda dealerships told me they have seen these issues before and did not want to get wrapped up in legal issues so they would not try and repair my car. Honda corporate will not even talk to me about taking my car back and have been completely disrespectful. Honda truly is NOT the company they used to be and I WILL NEVER buy another Honda again. Dont just take my word for it, DO YOUR RESEARCH! You will find thousands of other Civic owners with similar issues.

  • 2016 Honda Civic = PIECE OF CRAP - 2016 Honda Civic

I really had to stop myself from giving this vehicle all 1 stars throughout the rating, but I tried to be unbiased as possible. Long story short, after 5500 miles my fiance had to replace the entire transmission. Yes, everything was covered. But the total experience throughout the fixing process completely ruined my trust in Honda as a company. I took the car in for an oil change and to check the transmission (when putting the car in drive, it will take a few seconds then jump into gear). Not a big deal, but the car is brand new, so I took it right into the dealership. Checked in the car 6:30am. 9 am rolls around, still no word. After speaking to the rep, he said the tech was on the phone with Honda engineer because its a brand new model of the civic. Makes sense. After 2 days of me calling to check on the car, (not the dealership calling me to inform me) they finally put in the order for the trans without even calling me first. That was their first mistake. Then they said it will be in on a Friday, didnt show up until the following Wednesday. Luckily we were on vacation and didnt need the car anyway. The rep told me our civic was the first one to have this problem. I get it, things happen. But what did Honda do to regain our trust? One free oil change. We are currently looking for another vehicle now and never buying another Honda. Until this day, Honda still doesnt know whats wrong with the trans. I wouldnt recommend this car to my worse enemy.

  • In the Shop at 1100 Miles - 2016 Honda Civic

This is the fourth Honda Ive owned. Never had too many problems with the others so I decide on the 2016 Civic for my newest car purchase. Its a great car, as long as you dont care to know how much gas you have. With only 1100 miles on it, the gas gauge stop working. Well, not entirely. It has a bug where it only wont work in the morning. If you drive it around, turn the car off, and then turn it back on, it will work. But its a brand new car; I shouldnt have to do that. I took it back to the purchase dealer and they said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Took it to a second dealer (now at 1600 miles) and they currently have it in the shop and are keeping it overnight. Im very very disappointed in Honda and in my purchase of this vehicle. Who knows what will go wrong next? Think long and hard before purchasing this vehicle as the quality of Honda has gone significantly downhill.

Several times the hesitated upon acceleration. Almost hit several times crossing streets infront of on coming traffic. The seats are great if you are a little little tiny person. Do not curve very will for a comfortable ride. more to follow

  • Dont Buy / Sell It, Customer Service is terrible - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought the 2016 Civic Sedan EX-L before New Years and I have had nothing but headaches since. I have had multiple issues and made several calls to Honda about these issues. First issue, my radio display screen stopped working and showed a warning similar to an Internet browser Wait or Close Program. Im driving a new car which never should it close program for obvious safety reasons especially if you bought with Honda Sensing. Second problem I had was LaneWatch camera stopped working. When I turn on turn signal the radio would remain on the audio display. Third, an area button on my radio display space stopped responding to touch, which was not confirmed despite having a video of this. The Honda dealer could only verify my camera was not working and but could not address my other concerns which is ridiculous considering I have a video of my radio not working. Less than a month after buying my car several major service light turned on. These include power steering, braking system, parking brake system, up-hill assist, traction control error and tire pressure. My radio display audio button stopped working but was working so they could not verify an issue. The a different dealership was able to observe my radio display unit not work and decided to replace the information display unit. My camera has stopped working again but started before I could get it back in the shop. My major question is why my camera stopped working but the service department could not verify an issue. I attempted to put on my parking brake but the brake did not turn on the light blinked but did not engage. The service department could not replicate it was several days later and the car did not do that once I restarted the car. Except I have a brand new Honda Civic that has already taken a huge resale value hit because who wants a car with this many issue. The car has less than 1,500 miles on it and it has been anything but a turn-key experience. Dont trust the Honda Customer Care Hotline if they say no one has reported these issues because I have. I have made several calls to Honda Care Center and have received terrible service and some rude responses from the employees there granted I was rude and frustrated because it is a new car. I requested a new case manager be assigned but have since been contact by the same individual multiple times. They claim that they are unable to contact me through email and that I cant receive any communication other than telephone calls. I want to record the conversations with Honda Customer Care but was told if I state the call maybe recorded their policy is to not continue the call. Honda has given me no choice but to contact the NHTSA to report the problem with the eps unit, and parking brake problem. I will be contacting the necessary agencies to determine what I can do under state law.

  • Not the typical Honda quality - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

CVT Transmission failed within year 1 of ownership. Dealership service wasnt prepared to do the repair and spend days talking to Honda Tech Support. Collectively spent near a month with a loaner. Service department sent me home without completing routine maintenance twice stating the car didnt need to be serviced even though the service warnings were present. Overall this is an experience I hope to lay to rest very soon. Hopefully this dump car with hold its value when Im trying to trade it in.
