Still going strong - 2004 Acura TL
By 4kids - January 27 - 6:36 pmAfter five plus years and over 100,000 miles I can say that this is an excellent vehicle for almost anybody. I would not recommend it to any elderly or heavy set people since getting in and out may be difficult due to the low seat position and spring loaded front doors that tend to close back on you. Fun to drive, very good brakes, front drive is fine for 99% of driving needs. I average 27 mpg with about 2/3 highway 1/3 city driving. I find the voice command menu to be a gimmick, but I use the blue tooth phone all the time. Other than an annoying squeak from the glove box periodically, the car is still quiet and very reliable. Too bad Acura screwed up the exterior redesign for 2009.

Would buy it again! - 2004 Acura TL
By Rags - January 9 - 2:51 pmIve owned my 04 TL automatic with Navi since April 04 and I have to say that I love this car. Reliable, great ride, fun to drive, good gas mileage (up to 30 mpg when just freeway driving) and lots of goodies like heated seats, xenon headlights and great sound system are all standard. Acura quality and performance.

New Acura Owner For Life - 2004 Acura TL
By Logan - January 8 - 4:00 pmI bought a used 2004 TL automatic with approx. 75K miles on it, have put another 4K miles on it, and I couldnt be happier!!! It drives beautifully, the interior material is top notch, it has all the gadgets you could want (especially for being a 2004..way to go Acura for making all those amazing features standard on all base models!), and the exterior still turns heads. I put a lot of review into my purchase, especially from this website so I thought it was fitting I put some back in. The car does slip a little bit more than my last car in snowy conditions but i think thats mainly due to the torque.

A few problems - 2004 Acura TL
By stanjl50 - December 24 - 10:00 amI have had my TL for three weeks now. It is a very nice car in most respects. Handles very well, fast, good mileage. A tad noisy. It has been in the shop for a week because one of the speakers was not attached and parts keep showing up defective. Someone else has already noted the problem with the gas gauge. It tells you it is empty when it has 3 gallons left. This defect is called a feature by Honda since it was designed to be that way, according to my dealer, at least. Honda doesnt want you running out of gas, and supposedly calibrated the computer telling you how many miles till empty to get to zero too quickly, along with the gas gauge. Pathetic.

By salut - November 22 - 2:00 amI searched long and hard for this car... One year, going through the Germans, the Japanese, and the Swedes... My top four were: TL, 93aero, 330i, and G35... Infinity hated the seats. Beemer 3k more and that red light under the rear view (ugh). Saab was also 2k more before any options. Acura winner best bang for the buck... Great car...

By hobster - November 22 - 2:00 amI have never had this much fun owning a new car. Performance is incredible. Sound system is incredible, ready for DVD-A discs. 5.1 sound is incredible in the car. Bluetooth cell phone technology is so cool. Interior layout is top notch and all materials are incredible. Drove 3-series, G35, and LS and I know I bought the best car (and is the lowest price!)

By orclking25 - November 11 - 10:00 amThe 2004 TL is hands down the best car of the bunch, I tested two other cars when deciding on this purchase, the BMW 330 and Infiniti G35. Beamer- nice car but way overpriced, you have to add options to get it to the same level as the TL, lacked many features, bad placement for a cupholder!, plus I had heard rumors of reliability issues with the new 3 series. G35- great performance but ugly, cheap interior, Extremely ugly front end

By Ethan - November 8 - 6:13 amThe 2004 Acura TL is an anomaly: a car which is beautiful, comfortable, practical, and fun. The VTEC engine is punchy and quick, and the exhaust note is fantastic. Meanwhile, the leather bucket seats are remarkably comfortable with its heating capabilities, lumbar support, and cushy leather. The interior is premium for the price with much of the surfaces being leather wrapped or brushed aluminum. The back seat is tiny, but only to make room for a massive trunk that holds a bookshelf, a sleep in bag, and emergency kit, a thick coat, a marching band uniform, and groceries. This car is very practical despite its looks and performance. The car handles adequately, but it suffers from massive understeer and "boatiness": the TL would benefit from AWD, which would help with the understeer. Other than that, the TL is a fantastic performer with its shockingly quick launch and acceleration, comfortable suspension, and 160 MPH top speed. The best part of the car, though, is the styling. This car is beautiful from every angle- especially the rear end which rivals BMWs and Audis of the same era. If youre looking for the best value for money, look no further than the 2004 Acura TL.
