Overview & Reviews
The TL has been completely redesigned for 2004. A 270-horsepower V6 is standard, and both a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission are available. The level of luxury inside the cabin is up, and driving dynamics are better than ever.
- Luxurious interior, long list of standard equipment, powerful V6 engine, slick-shifting six-speed manual, pleasant blend of ride comfort and fun.

Big Letdown! - 2004 Acura TL
By Mark - July 28 - 8:03 pmI bought this car new and was so excited. It is sharp, fast and nimble. My excitement quickly turned into a nightmare. From day one this car was a rattle trap, and in less than a week it was already back at the dealer. This car has spent 17 days in the shop since I have owned it. The bridgestone tires are terrible, and like other people writing reviews here the leather seats wear very quickly. I am so disappointed in acura. I expect better from a honda product. I seriously hope people read this review before buying this car. I wouldnt wish this nightmare on anyone else!!

A 2009 acura or not? - 2004 Acura TL
By herbh20 - July 17 - 12:18 pmHad a meltdown of ignition wires at 56,000 miles. Dealer repaired car at no charge since I had purchased car and did all scheduled maintenance at dealership. Dealer also said that meltdown was premature. Also supplied free loaner and did additional repairs caused by meltdown. Had two transmissions replaced at no charge on 2002 acura. I also had tires, batteries and mirror replaced. The dealership has been great, but I am getting leery of acura quality.

Great Vehicle - 2004 Acura TL
By Acura Guy - July 16 - 2:00 amIve owned this for just a few weeks, but I am very pleased. It has great acceleration and is very smooth to drive. Great audio system and control layout. Blue lighting on dash is great, and car looks great on the outside. Big improvement over previous TL which looked like a Honda. Very quiet inside even while driving at high speeds. Wonderful car.

TLs getting better - 2004 Acura TL
By jiminmd - June 30 - 10:00 amTraded a 2000 TL for this 2004 and am very pleased with the improvements Acura made to the performance and comfort features. The car definitely handles much better than the 2000 and has much better power. Although my wife thinks the 2000 was more comfortable (in that the 2004 is a bit more bumpy), but that is what you get with sportiness. However, I like it--alot.

Great purchase choice - 2004 Acura TL
By Ha-may-mee - May 29 - 2:00 amAn excellent alternative to the GS300. Car is not as smooth as the GS300, but sportier. BMW 3 & 5 series are much smaller and clostrophobic when compared. The TL gets it done cheeper than both and is head and shoulders above the G35 & Maxmia. Try internet sales. Walking in the dealership, full MSRP and told no discounts. 30 minutes online and got one for $33,750 OUT THE DOOR! Talk to Hiedi at Pasadena Acura to view, but buy it from Nelson (internet sales guy). She knows the car better than most and Nelson knows the numbers!

Awesome 04 Acura TL - 2004 Acura TL
By donrkeen - May 29 - 2:00 amAfter owning a 00 TL, a 02 TL-S, this 04 represents a significant advancement in refinement, better ride and handling and even greater acceleration. Highway gas mileage is much better that the estimate of 28MPG. Fit and finish, including interior materials, are superior to BMW or Infinite. Did not consider Lexus--they just dont have a competitive vehicle.
