Cheap, Reliable, and Efficient - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By SK - December 2 - 11:53 amNot having a lot of money and needing a reliable and efficient car, I bought the most basic Corolla. I doubt I could have gotten more value for my money from another new car. The car has 57500 miles now, and the only problem I had was burnt-out check engine indicator (promptly fixed by the dealer under the manufacturers warranty). The car handles very well, has very good angles (I can make a U-turn almost anywhere), and can fit into almost any parking spot. It has a decent acceleration (w/ manual transmission) and is comfortable at freeway speeds (passable even at 85-90 mph if needed). It gives me a great gas mileage -- upto 40mpg on the freeway and 27-33 in the city.

Toyota Corolla - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By daddemac - April 3 - 2:00 amThis vehicle has gotten me the best gas mileage of any vehicle I have ever owned. Handling and performance for small car with a 1.8 liter engine has really impressed me. I drive this car daily to and from work, which is a 130 mile round trip, and maintain speeds of 75 to 80 mph. The Corolla still gets me between 37 and 40 mpg. What a money savings this car has been especially with the rising gas prises.

This car saved my life! - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Jason McGovern - January 12 - 2:00 amI had the stripper model. 3 speed transmission, 33mpg hwy. The performance is fairly good, but I would steer away from the 3 speed trans. This car handles very nicely. Im a nutzoid driver who makes the passengers eat the side windows when I take the curves. The ride is fairly quiet and fairly smooth. Reliability is already spoken for and that is, get your basic service, and it will survive a nuclear blast. Not to mention I rolled this car a few times on the fwy going 60, and it held up VERY well. Definitely a safe car to drive. I came out without a SCRATCH.

Reliable AND Fun - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Car Fanatic - March 21 - 10:00 amWith 39K on the odometer, this car is excellent and everything works. Drives like new and the 4-Speed Auto is smooth. The 1.8 VVT-i is peppy and I just by a hair beat a Sunfire GT (2.4?) from a stoplight. Cruise control and AUTO down drivers window are handy features. I do drive fast at times and still get 37MPG. The looks are also nice. I get compliments.

gets the job done perfectly - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Joe - August 12 - 9:40 pmThis car is great. It goes forever on a tank of gas and has enough room for all of my hockey gear. I can pick 3 of my smaller friends and bring them with me anywhere. Sometimes I wish the engine was a little bit more sporty, but it has got enough juice to make a pass without a problem, but it wont win any races. It has lots of little pieces that rattle, like the door locks and window crank.
