Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Great Commuter - 2009 Toyota Corolla

My wife traded in our 2008 Accord LX-P because of the sever wind/road noise. Only had the Accord less than eight months. Have had the Corolla for almost a month and she just loves it. It is quieter than the Accord and rides just as well or better. We put 17" wheels on it and it really looks sharp. The gas mileage is about 36 mpg on her daily commute of 85mi round trip, I like the comfortable seats and the power is more than enough to get you on the freeway. Cant say enough good things about the car. It was a great trade as far as we are concerned.

  • CHEAP TO BUY, AND CHEAPLY BUILT TOO! - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

In April 2012, I bought a 2010 Corolla LE with 7018 miles, from a Honda dealer, for $13,685. I bought it because of the advertised great fuel milage, and for the 8 total air bags ( small car safety ). The car is a good vehicle for low speed local travel, but highway noise above 55mph is excessive! I simply would not buy a Corolla again because of the excessive road noise. This is obviously a cheap car, but the all plastic interior is disgustingly cheap. I suppose I got what I paid for, but I now do NOT plan to keep this car. Interestingly, someone else traded it in at the Honda dealership where I bought it. WHY ?? I am now planning to trade it also! I made a mistake buying a 2010 Corolla LE!

  • Good commuter car - 2015 Toyota Corolla

The Toyota Corolla 2015 LE is a comfortable car for commuting long and short distances. It is a smooth ride at higher speeds on the freeways and has the power when you need it. It handles well but probably not sporty enough for most. You dont feel the bumps in the road like in most cars. It is certainly economical. It lets you know how much fuel you are using! The exterior of the car has a nice streamlined look. The interior is OK - looks a little outdated but has many convenient features like the Ensure media system. Bluetooth phone, voice activation, reverse camera, automatic climate control etc. There is plenty of room in the car and you head does not touch the ceiling.

  • I really like this car! - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I recently purchased my white Toyota after its sporty and clean looks really caught my eye - It has "ground effects" package, a "wing & power sunroof. I am 55 but not ready for an "old lady " car! I had been looking for a few months and this is the first car that seriously had everything I was looking for. It is extremely roomy & comfortable, with a great solid feel, and drives & handles like a dream-- with terrific gas mileage so far. Also, a big factor is that I got it for $10,000 LESS than the other cars I was considering! I am very happy! Even though its a 4 cylinder, it still moves great, anytime I hit the gas. Love it !

  • Awesome little car! - 2015 Toyota Corolla

I have 2011 S and while I like that one this one is way better! This car is smooth and gets unreal mpg! I got 42 mpg on a trip! Cant speak highly enough of it after 15000 miles!

  • Dealing with it. - 2004 Toyota Corolla
    By -

As far as compact cars go this one was it for us. The steering wheel ought to be telescopic and we get 25-28 mpg in town vs 32. I personally dont like to drive it much unless Im taking it up to red line or @ 100 mph in 3rd gear. Im 511" & 215lb so getting out my wallet is even a hassle... thats to be expected though. Seats are way more comfortable than the Civic, at least for my semi-fat rear-end. We have the leather seats but they need to have heat as an option. Heater ducts need to point at our feet vs behind them. Too much wind & noise inside with rear windows rolled down. It would be nice to turn off the headlights when I wanted. We just wanted the most bang for the buck & reliability.

  • My first and last Toyota - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought this car recently with 35,000 miles. I cant say much about the reliability yet, however, this car has a really rough ride as compared to my Nissan Sentra and Honda Civic. The rough ride was unbearable so I spent $590 on Michelin Defender tires which have improved the ride, but it still rides rougher than the other two cars I mentioned. The handling on turns is also poor and there is a rattle in the back ceiling that has been reduced with the new tires, but the car still tends to vibrate and bounce. Also the driver door locks to not work. It also has a very high idle and I dont believe I am getting as good of gas mileage as my other two cars. I am considering reselling.

  • good car but - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought this car three years ago and it was a demo with 1,200. I traded in a 1998 Camry which was a great car. After driving this for one day I was realized what a mistake I had made, the road noise was atrocious. It gets great gas mileage, as high as 40 mpg on a road trip, 32 as an average, but the headlights are terrible at night on regular beam, in fact it is downright dangerous. I am in process of trading the corolla in on a Hyundai sonata, 2011. I have bought toyotas for years but since about 2007 and after, you read more bad than you do good about toyotas.
