Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

This car handles terribly. The steering of the vehicle is like you are always driving on ice. Constant drifting and difficult to control even with a slight wind. Trucks nearly blow you right off the road. The engine is way under power for the car. Needs about 50 more ponies under the hood to made it a decent drive. The comfort is terrible too. I am 5 10" and am uncomfortable after driving 50 miles. And NO I do not work for another car company, just telling you like it is. You want a nice compact car? Do not buy a Corolla.

The wife loves the car in all respects. I do not like its comfort level for me, although she is 5"1 and fits in it easily. I dont. Driving it is a pain for me at 510".

  • Terrific car! - 2003 Toyota Corolla

This is a nice one among the leading sub-compacts on the market. Only the Civic comes close in the total package. The redesign looks great and MUCH better than the 02 model. The 03 looks just like the Lexus IS and the tailights are a nice touch! A few more improvements and there is not much to not like about the Corolla.

This cars is awesome! Im getting 31 m.p.g. in town and it is not broke in yet! I can tell you that you will be wasting your time on a Honda, Mazda, or Nissan in this group. This Corolla looks sharper and is thousands less with a back up camera. The CVT trans. is really a great invention. I have 6 speeds and you cant feel it shift. In the Sport Mode I can move the shifter over to M and Paddle shift through 6 speeds. I am so impressed with the performance and engineering of this car Im tickled to own it. The interior is well laid out and again is nicer than the other brands. The car feels very solid, go test drive one and you will be signing your name on a contract.

  • Great Car - 2001 Toyota Corolla

My dad got a five year lease on a Corolla CE in 2001 and it was an amazing vehicle. He just changed the oil twice and the tires and it never gave him any problems. Its a very reliable car.

  • Great mileage so far..... - 2010 Toyota Corolla

OK. I am the biggest conservative driver that I know. I really keep the rpms down. I have been watching the computer and average miles per gallon. My general rural commute and riding around town so far I have averaged......... 37-38 mpgs!!!!!! I said "aw shucks" when I saw the new Elantra come out with its 40 mpgs, but with the lifetime drivetrain warranty and 0% financing on my Corolla I still think I made right decision.

  • My first Toyota! - 2004 Toyota Corolla

This is my first Toyota and I have to say that Im very pleased so far. I have owned a lot of cars and mainly Fords so this is a test and if it passes then Ill buy more Toyotas in the future. This little car has plenty of power and the gas mileage is one word "awesome"

  • VERY good car! - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Have had three Toyotas, with no problem at all. This is a GREAT car, and being in Northern CA in the valley, I need air conditioning! Feel that the power is VERY good, it handles extremely well. Im STILL finding out things about this car that I had no idea it could do!

  • Good but a few issues. - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Ive really enjoyed owning this car for the past three months. Its smaller, lighter, tighter - and thus - more fun to drive than my last car (Mitsubishi Galant). I seem to be getting better gas mileage than a lot of the reviewers here (28-29 with a good deal of stop- and-go commuting)... not sure why that is. The car seems solid and confindence inspiring despite some rattles/buzzing from the rear deck (which I was able to decrease greatly just by jamming some foam rubber in the crack between the plastic pieces on the c-pillar and rear deck).

  • Disappointed - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Picked up this car 5/2007 and now have 1200 miles on it. Vehicle came equipped with Goodyear Integrity P185/16 which have an air loss problem. Letters to Toyota USA & Goodyear unsuccessful & forget the dealer bad news with them. Even though Toyota chose to put these tires on their car they blame Goodyear & Goodyear is unresponsive. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety website there are 25 complaints filed on these tires so something is wrong. Overall for this car Toyota has failed with it the interior is sloppy & the vehicle handles like it is 4 yrs old not 4 months old. Also once I tilt the wheel I cannot see the speedometer
