This Year's Model Updates:

Wow, what a beauty. The redesigned Maxima bows with an aerodynamic shape and a lengthened wheelbase. The new Maxima is available as a budget-minded GXE, sporty SE or luxurious GLE. All Maximas get the 190-horsepower engine previously exclusive to the SE.

  • i love my maxima SE - 1995 Nissan Maxima

I have the SE with 5 speed manual, alloy wheels, spoiler, sunroof. bought it at 73k for $4800 and have put on 7k in 5 months. first off, for a 95, this car looks good. it can easily pass for a 99 and the interior design looks a lot newer than 10 years old. the 3.0 V6 is silky smooth and POWERFUL. this car has GREAT acceleration, especially with the 5 speed. if you know what youre doing you can drag race most cars you pull up next to at stoplights. very comfortable. the a/c works very well. handling is decent. gas mileage is not bad for a smaller V6. only problems were with transmission due to previous owners abuse. and even that couldnt really damage it.

  • Never Had a Repair Yet - 1995 Nissan Maxima

I bought this car new almost nine years ago. For the first 5 1/2 years it was used as a summer car. Finally I drove it winters in New England and was amazed at how well it handled in snow/ice. Never had a mechanical problem. Bose radio was replaced under warranty. Best car ever owned. Leather interior looks brand new. Exterior is still stylish for today.

  • Best Car Ever - 1995 Nissan Maxima

I bought my 1995 Nissan Maximain March 2004 with 170,000 miles on it. Since then I have put 10,000 miles on it. The only problem I have is a leaky sunroof and a broken antenna, but the guy before me neglected everything but the engine and paint job. The car has an amazing shine (black), and gets a lot of compliments. It still looks like a newer car. Ive had a Stanza and a Maxima before this and would definatley stick with Nissan.

  • Maxine takes me for a ride!!! - 1995 Nissan Maxima

Maxine loves to get up and go all of the time, and no exceptions. She is so reliable and will drive in any weather. Front-wheel drive and plenty of power to back it up with, this is the best car I have ever bought, and a good investment. She has 113000 miles and is just being broken in.

182,000 still runs good as new. I installed a k&n filter on it which improved horsepower and fuel economy.

  • 1995 Nissan Maxima SE - super value! - 1995 Nissan Maxima
    By -

Owned since new--10 years (2004). 140k miles. Extremely reliable car. Parts worn out so far: starter motor (easily replaced it myself) and suspension (as getting too soft--upgraded to high performance aftermarket setup). Most people dont realize the customization market for the Nissan Maxima has been growing steadily for the last 5 years. Maxima.org--phenomenal resource for Maximas, especially advice from die- hard owners. Ive made extensive improvements with info I learned there. Upshot: greatest value vehicle Ive ever owned. If youre on a budget and you can find one in very good condition, GET IT! (of course, after mechanical inspection)

  • Fun 4-door rod - 1995 Nissan Maxima

Had 1985 Maxima wagon previously. Also 1983, 1984, and 1986 Zs...all great cars and reliable. This time wanted a sedan that had some six cyclinder guts and good gas mileage. Ended up with a 95 GXE plain Jane thats a kick to drive without busting the bank....a near perfect sedan in an imperfect world...have had several Camrys, a Cressida, 2 740 Volvos, a 7 series BMW, and a 4 and 6 cyc Accord....this car is the most fun to drive of all

  • Why Cant Detroit Do This? - 1995 Nissan Maxima
    By -

This is the best car I have ever owned. It is beautifully styled and a joy to drive. I have nearly 120,000 miles on this car, and other than a starter replacement, I have had no repairs beyond routine maintenance. The engine is the quietest, smoothest performer on the road. If Detroit could do this, the American auto industry would be on the way back.

  • 1995 SE 5-speed - 1995 Nissan Maxima

When I originally purchased the Maxima, I wanted to get maximum fuel economy and reliability while maintaining a semi-luxury design and sporty feel; enter the Maxima five speed, fuel efficent, reliable, and filled with creature comforts (Bose stereo, digital climate control, heated leather, etc.). The vehicle is responsive and comfortable, handling is about average for its size and build quality is relatively good. You really do get quite a lot for not much money, but be warned: Nissan charges premium prices for its components, well over the prices youd expect from a Japanese automobile. All in all I would still recommend the vehicle despite its faults as a great daily driver.
