This Year's Model Updates:

Wow, what a beauty. The redesigned Maxima bows with an aerodynamic shape and a lengthened wheelbase. The new Maxima is available as a budget-minded GXE, sporty SE or luxurious GLE. All Maximas get the 190-horsepower engine previously exclusive to the SE.

  • Dependable, but... - 1995 Nissan Maxima

cant understand how the frame could deteriorate so badly that it is virtually undrivable now. For a car that is 17 years old, I expected more--even if we are in the north. Have had the vehicle for about 2.5 years, and it has been dependable for our daughter, driving to and from college (some 400 miles away), generally requiring just regular maintenance overall. But, the car is virtually junk now because of the frame--with only 126,500 miles on it. Very disappointed. Other issues: a check engine light comes on often (oxygen sensor?), and it has a lot of rust. But the frame is the main issue. If purchasing vehicle used, have a pre-purchase check--especially the frame.

  • Love my MAXIMA! - 1995 Nissan Maxima

Got this car back in 1997 for my wife with about 45K miles on it. It is my daily drive car now and has 135K miles and drives like the day we got it. The motor and transmission are smooth. I have done routine maintenance on it and it has been bullet proof. When I want, I drive it hard and it responds like the well tuned sports sedan that it is. It is so much fun to drive and has so much spirit for any car, much less a large 4-door family sedan. There are many new cars that wont come close to the performance and value I get out of this car even today. Im sold for life! I will buy another Maxima!

  • Best bet for family car. - 1995 Nissan Maxima

This is my first Nissan. I was able to obtain an 95 SE with a manual transmission, which took my several weeks to find (only about 8% of Maximas sold have a manual). This car is fun to drive. Though its not a true sports car, it makes a great family car!! With the manual this car is fun on two-lane roads. This car has more interior room than an Accord/Camry. Plus, if you get am Accord/Camry, youre going to spend a minimum of $1200 to have a sound anywhere close to what the Bose delivers. I considered a Camry and Accord when I was looking, but the Max fit the bill. It has more room and it a lot more fun to drive than a Accord and Camry (put together).

  • My Reliable Baby!!! - 1995 Nissan Maxima
    By -

Ive owned my baby for only a little over a month and the only thing I brought it to my mechanic for was to scan the engine for the check engine light problem. Thats it. Turns out to be an anti-knock sensor and an EGR sensor. (Emissions sensor). He told me not to worry about it and since it runs like a TOP, not to even bother spending the $800 for these 2 sensors installed. Drives like Im on a cloud! He said he could just pull the bulb out so the light is always out! Id rather do that for the $35!!! Will not affect the performance or ride if he did this. This car is so quiet, sometimes I forget its on! Ill never part with my baby! I strongly recommend this car to anyone!!

  • Absolute Best Vehicle - 1995 Nissan Maxima

The wife said it was time to go and so I bought a new SUV. But!!! The Maxima that I just traded in was the best car that I have ever owned. I put 187,000 miles on it and all I ever did other than put gas in and routine maintenance was a fan belt and an alternator (both repairs occurred after 100K miles). Great ride, great performance, great style. They dont come any better!!!!!

  • the consistant exhilaration - 1995 Nissan Maxima

I bought it new before heading off to college. Special ordered the 5spd. Still blows the doors off so called "muscle cars" even with its conserative apperance. I hate the cupholders; they interfere with shifting. It has gotten me through blizzards and hurricanes with complete confidence. Reliable is an understaement. My mileage is exceptionally low and the paint has been professionally restored after a snow shovel oppsy. Im passing it on to my little brother who is starting at Villanova, as I move on to a CLK Cabriolet. If it wasnt going to my brother I wouldnt part with it. Beauty, power, handling, reliability, style and BALLS!

I worked at a dealership for awhile. I used this car to get places i needed to go so i didnt have to put wear on my car. The car had 185,000 miles on it and it ran as good as my 2000 se with 80k. It handled awesomely and still had the performance i expected. I love my 00 and i loved this 95. I highly recommend a maxima to anyone. In my opinion of owning 2 a 90 and a 00 and having friends own them and working on there cars. I HIGHLY recommend the maxima. Just look up VQ30DE on Google and see all the awesome reviews you get for the motor!!!!

  • My Perfect Max!!! - 1995 Nissan Maxima

I recently purchased this vehicle about a month ago, and am absolutely delighted. NO disappointments. A beautiful, luxurious, smooth ride. I will keep this car until the wheels fall off! Only 139,000 miles and plenty of life left! Ive owned many foreign cars and plan to stay with the Maxima. No leaks anywhere on my driveway! This car doesnt leak a thing! Maximas are built to last and Id recommend anyone looking for a smooth-running, reliable, reasonably- priced sedan. They never die!!!!!
