  • Excellent car for the money - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Traded a 2004 Sonata and this car is just as comfortable as the Sonata. Very comfortable and supportive seats. Performance is great and the milage for a car that is not broken in yet varies from 33 mpg to 42 mpg.

  • Mpg rating, lie..... - 2013 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

I bought this car last week as a college student thinking I was going to get great gas mileage. Every review i read was great, but of course I never ran across anything about the bad MPG ratings. Well it has about 600 miles on it and it is getting about 25 average mpg and this is with about half my driving on the freeway. That is 8 under the average mpg it should be getting. Its sad, and Hyundai doesnt care, nor does the dealership at hilltop hyundai in richmond, california. All in all its a great car other than the fact it does not do what it is advertised as.

I drive a combination of city and highway and I never get above upper 20 MPH. I got over 30 once on a trip.

  • Overall great car! - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Performance -- Feels a bit sluggish at low RPMs, but that gets you the high mpg, but pushing it up into the higher RPMs gives you plenty of performance, and the sports mode helps me keep in the RPM range I want without having to get a fully manual car. Comfort -- I feel as comfortable in this as I do in a Buick, but I dont feel like Im driving a boat! Value -- For a "more full" sedan with packed features, its great value! But if I were buying for myself, I find it hard justifying spending more on the Elantra vs. the Accent. Fun: Its not really fun, but it gets you point A to point B wonderfully. Design: A bit funky, but looks modern and advanced. Interior is more subtle. Quality: A+

  • Love my Elantra! :) - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Purchased my Elantra in July and so far I love every bit of the car. With the stock hankooks the interior noise was pretty audible, especially at speeds over 55 mph. Just recently I switched over to new Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires and road noise is almost eliminated. I named my Elantra Serenity since her ride is very peaceful and relaxing. For being a commuter car, the Elantra is quite peppy when pushed. Im impressed with the fuel economy, currently at 33.5 mpg average, which is higher then the EPA rating. I also drive without the active ECO feature. My gps has an instant mpg readout and at 70 mph it reads from 39-45+ mpg depending on how flat the road is.

  • Great car - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

I have 2,780 miles on the car I boght in Oct./12. My mpg was between 24 and 32 since I bought the car until today when I got 38.1 mpg. Im noticing that as the car breaks in, the mpg is getting higher and the performance is getting better. Its a little bumpy on uneven streets or highway, but I can overlook that aspect of the car because of the great price and features this car has. I took 3 weeks researching and nothing came close to the Elantra GLS in price and features. Great car! Ill keep updating my reviews as time goes on.

  • Rough rider! - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Without a doubt the noisiest and hardest riding car Ive ever owned. On complaint,I was told perhaps nitrogen filled tires may be unbalanced. Guess what? That was not the problem. I was told they could not duplicate the problem[s] and was signed off. I have 2400 miles and will trade in on another brand ASAP!

  • THIS CAR IS SUCH A FUN DRIVE! - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

I love driving this car. Ive been using it for my commute to work, and I average a combined 34-39 mph, well above the 33 theyve rated. In Los Angeles no less! For all the people complaining about low mileage, if you drive in stop-and-go in the city a lot, your mileage will suffer. You have to actually reset your MPG on the highway to get the magic 40. As long as you dont have a lead foot, youll easily hit the 30s and higher. I get 43 mpg exclusively on the highway, doing about 80-85% hwy driving. If you can drive 40-55, youll probably get even better. I actually ENJOY driving to work because I love driving this car!

  • 40 MPG is disappointing - 2013 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

Bought this vehicle in August for its 40 mpg hiway rating as I travel 50 miles one way to work daily. I now have 3500 miles on this vehicle and the best fuel mileage I have gotton is 33.9 mpg traveling 65 mph on the hiway to and from work daily. With 9 fillups the mileage has ranged from 31.0 to 33.9 mpg. The dealership salesman has said that its not broken in yet and the mileage should get better as more miles are put on it. I have my doubts at this time that will happen. Other than the mileage issues, I have not had any other issues with this vehicle. It drives and handles beautifully.

  • 20 Miles Per Gallon - For Real... - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Do not buy this car if gas mileage is important to you. I have had this car for 4 months. I get only 20 miles to the gallon on city, flat road driving. Disaster.
