  • Very Pleased - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

I do not understand negative reviews about gas mileage! The LOWEST we have gotten is 32.5. We live in an extremely hilly area.....rural, lots of stops, starts, slow down for curves and accelerating on steep hills. On the hwy., we get over 38 mpg. We previously owned a Ford Focus and a Chevy Impala (which I hated!) and the Hyundai Elantra Limited is way above and beyond both vehicles. The ride is so much quieter and smoother. The features in the Limited surpass the Ford Focus by miles!

  • What is wrong with Hyundai? - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

I recently bought an Elantra. Suddenly I notice that the horn is incredibly weak. The turn signal sound is almost inaudible and the panic button alarm is only effective if youre 5 feet from the car. I complained to Hyundai and they have given me a real run-around stating nothing but my neighbor has a Limited Elantra and he told me that he knew about the sound problems. I like the car but I never would have bought it if I had known. I traded in a 2009 Camry which was perfect.

  • 2013 elantra bad rear axle - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

they are replacing my rear axle for free. If I had rotated my tires like I should have I wouldnt have found out that my rear axle was bad. I had 1 rear tire with extremely odd wear, took it in and they found my axle was made very badly, had I rotated them like I should have, the wear would have been minimal and almost unnoticable on all 4 tires.

  • Pleasantry surprised! - 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Dont believe everything you read. If youre interested in a car, go drive it for yourself - you may just be surprised. I had a 2013 Elantra as a rental for a week and after the week I fell in love. The car is very quiet, VERY smooth (smooth ride and steering) and the overall quality is excellent. I was worried about it being "underpowered" as some reviews have stated however I find the power to be more than adequate (its no Porsche but it has great pick up). Yes the gas mileage isnt the best, but if thats not a huge deal for you, than this car is just fine. If you want good gas mileage, get a tiny car such as a Scion iQ or the even smaller Accent Hyundai offers.

  • What a dissappointment - 2013 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

At first we loved the car but noticed the MPG was not as described. The 1st month we had it the breaks had to be replaced because of a noise they made. Next the tires were horrible loud. After that it has gone down hill, the car shakes horrible at stop lights (while in gear) and we have had a knocking noise from the motor. Taking to the dealer several times we left with nothing done. Finally I recorded the sound and took it back where they said there was metal in my oil and they would replace the motor.. This was at 24,000 miles... New motor is now making the same noise (1,000miles later) Hyundais answer swap motor out AGAIN. Is anyone else having these same issues???

  • Terrible fuel mileage and poor supension - 2013 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

Bought this cars cause it was showing 58 mpg when I bought it on the sticker in the window I get 28 mpg but I get a credit car from Hyundai for them lying about the mileage works to to fill my tank 2 times a year and I figure Im using about 10-12 tanks extra a year. If I have 2 passengers in the back seat my wheels rub on the plastic cover in the wheels wells every dip in the highway I consider this to be a safety issue took a picture of it to the dealership and was told they put 2 people in the back of the car on the show room and it did the same thing so theres nothing they can do. I also paid 1500 for interior warranty and have a stain that they wont cover only cover threads popping

  • Hyundia sucks. and has the lowest resale value of any car i have owned - 2013 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

Hyundai marketed the Elantra at 40 MPGS> when In reality it gets about 35 MPG"S. I bought a 2012 Elantra based on the 40 MPG"S quoted. this car was suppose to save me up to $120.00 a month in gas. my last car cost me $58.00 a week to drive and so dose the Elantra. it is uncomfortable loud poor handeling. and has a poor stereo system. you can also find other poor reviews on Edmondson.com. facebook, and other sites just type in Elantra reviews.. Hyundai compairs the Elnatra to the Honda Civic. at a higher price tag than the civic. after resently driving other cars I found the elantra to be in a lower class such as the Mazda 3. the Corolla. and the Dodge Dart at about $16,000.00 which is a

  • Very good car... Except.... - 2013 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

Ive owned this car for almost 7 months so far. At 16K miles the brakes started to make a strange noise, I thought that it must be due to the extreme cold temperatures weve been having. NOPE, at 17k miles Im being told that my brakes need service, and guess what its out of pocket! Never mind that this car is driven 80% highway with limited use of brakes (no heavy traffic). Dealer treats this as NORMAL. Ive had a mazda3 which only needed brakes every 60Kmiles. At this rate Ill be changing brakes every 8 months! Very poor design Hyundai. You may have just lost a(nother) customer.

  • Great car - 2013 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

This was my first foreign car and I am very pleased with it so far. Bought it new in Oct. 2013. The gas mileage has been outstanding. On a trip to Denver from Longmont and back which took 96 miles the computer said we averaged 46 mpg. On average we are getting approx. 33 to 35 mpg.
