Overview & Reviews
The Elantra received a slight refresh for this year in the form of a new hood, deck lid, front and rear bumpers, grille, headlamps and taillights. Interior revisions include a redesigned instrument cluster, vents, center console and climate controls. The engine has been fitted with continuously variable valve timing, and it is now sold in SULEV or ULEV configurations (depending on the state in which it's purchased) which offer horsepower ratings of 138 and 132, respectively. The base GLS model now offers remote keyless entry as standard equipment, while GT models now have a Kenwood CD/MP3 audio system as standard.
- Solidly built, powerful engine for its class, plenty of standard features, ultralow price tag, long warranty.
- Poor offset crash test score, antilock brakes available only as a package option.

By William Greanbowlt - April 28 - 2:00 amI wasnt sure if I should by a Honda or Hyundai I know that Honda has a very good track record and product . But everything I read about Hyundai kept saying buy the Hyundai so I did I am very happy with the car it has more power a better ride and more standard than the Honda And to top it all of it has the best warranty, warranty was important but the Hyundai seems like a better built car.I was very happy with the dealership I had a salesman named Jerry he did not preasure me explained everything on the car and backed up facts with reports .

A Car You Grow to Love - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By Guyton - April 3 - 6:13 amI was not all that excited to be trading in my two seater sports car for the Elantra. However, I was growing out of the racer boy image and I needed something practical and good on gas. Now, I cant figure out why I had been driving anything else. This car is great. It excels at the things a "daily driver" should excel at and it still surprises me with thoughtful features designed into the vehicle that I had not known about. Can you believe it can tow over 3000lbs! I just found that out today and my jaw dropped. Awesome car.

Long road, but Hyundai has come far - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By mightiess - March 23 - 2:00 amThe Elantra is a very attractive car at an attractive price. Comes standard with power mirrors/windows/locks, AC, quad-design headlights, steering wheel tilt, 60/40 split rear, plenty of storage/cup holders, etc, etc. Where else can you get so much for so little with an excellent warranty from Hyundai?

TOP value/price! - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By charlie/Hedbring - March 23 - 2:00 amWith my spinal cord injury, the car I purchased had to be tops in comfort, tops in reliability, and tops in ease of use and handling. Given my medical bills, the car I selected had to be under $20,000 all inclusive. Enter a lengthy internet search that lasted weeks. The Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback w/ auto-shift won! I have had it one year; lots of stop/go traffic; record snow (upstate NY); record cold; wet spring/summer -- no negatives! Even Coogee, my rat terrier service dog loves it! What a car, truly!

All Around Good Car - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By greenthoughts - March 23 - 2:00 amThis car is really nice for the money. So far, I havent had any problems. To be a small car, it is actually roomy inside. It is perfect as a fist car or an additional car for a small family.

This is a GREAT car. - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By Peter Laurie - March 23 - 2:00 amFor the price, this is the best car Ive owned. Yeah, its cheap, but that only makes my friends wonder why they spent 10K more on a car. The hatchback is terrific. I can get anything into the car, including a 6-foot step ladder. Does it have a lot of power? No. But with no desire to go off road, I can drive anywhere I want to. Occasionally, I know I cannot pass a porsche when Im going uphill. The car has a super-designed interior. Feels just right, even for big guys. My wife and I both like to drive it.
