Overview & Reviews
Bigger inside and out, the redesigned 2001 Elantra boasts stylish sheet metal, a refined 140-horsepower engine and improved noise, vibration and harshness characteristics. Poised to tackle the best in the class, the Elantra comes well equipped for less than $13,000. Though the useful station wagon model has been stricken from the lineup, a five-door hatchback is set to debut next year.
- Solidly built, powerful engine for its class, plenty of standard features, ultra-low price tag.
- Funky front styling details, wagon no longer available.

wouldnt want anything else - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By drvn2mddnss - December 5 - 12:33 pmbought mine used in 2010 it had 175,000 miles on it. i change the oil every 3k it now sits at 221,200 miles and is still going strong, ive only had to replace both the front drive axles at around 75 bucks a piece and the transmission sensors that were a little salty at around 180.00 for both. but still is an awesome running vehicle i use it to commute to work. looking at a 2004 model 5 speed now to upgrade. i would recommend this car to anyone.

Hyundai Elantra GT - a Gem of a Car! - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By Gretchenjkb - December 9 - 2:00 amThese are great cars! I am a transplanted devoted German car enthusiast and let me tell you -- this Elantra makes me smile every time I hop in the car. My car is fully loaded with all the bells and whistles of a much more expensive vehicle, it drives beautifully, and has been very reliable. What a find! Buy one, you will not regret it!

Great and Reliable - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By crkeeler - September 24 - 11:42 amI purchased my Elantra brand new in February of 2001. It has proven to be the most reliable car ive ever owned. I have not had any major repairs and it runs great. I recommend this as a used car option even over 100,000 miles. Great and affordable for a high school or college student.

Great Car - Even Better Price - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By Pastor Ken - September 4 - 10:00 amMy 2001 Elantra has performed beautifully as basic transportation and more. It has a solid build quality, decent performance, and has been reliable so far. After two years, it still looks and drives as well as my buddys Civic, purchased at the same time. He paid $3K more than I did!

Comfort & Reliability - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By Downy0622 - June 11 - 10:00 amThis car was my life saver. I had previously owned klunker after klunker and finally decided to buy a newer car. The warranty was what primarily drew my attention. 100,000 miles or 5 years on a slightly used 2001 Hyundai Elantra. The car looked gorgeous and had plenty of room for a compact car. I drive long distance all the time and was happy to finally have a reliable car. No more braking down and having to call AAA. The car runs beautifully. And because I drive long distance, Ive had time to experience the comfort and roominess of the interior. Just recline the seat and relax. I love my Elantra!

Great car, 18 year old owner - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By joeychris909 - December 29 - 8:17 pmGreat 1st car. This is my 1st car and I love it. Gave me some trouble like the leaking transmission, headlight burnouts, fading dash clock, and the airbag light. Im 18 years old and this car has been fun to drive with a decent amount of space. Other Young people like me would choose a Honda over a Hyundai but I chose the Hyundai. Still runs strong with 156,780 miles!

Wow, nice car for the price! - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By Seely - November 20 - 1:32 pmBack in 2001, after a hail storm hit, we were looking for a new car. We decided to look around, and noticed Holmes (the dealer we bought from) had discounts on cars on the lot due to hail damage. Of course, we managed to get it new for 9,572 dollars due to hail damage, and a little persuasion. Love it. The only Major problem weve had was a broken thermometer. It does get a little noisy on the inside. Its 2.0 i4 gets enough Punch, and still returns good mileage. Nice exterior styling, however, the interior was slightly drab, but not too bad. Nice trunk space, and a locking gas door. Inside trunk handle is Nice. Trunk room is fantastic, and the reliability wont disappoint.

Very good, reliable, fun car - 2001 Hyundai Elantra
By Jo Squier - June 22 - 10:00 amThis is the second Hyundai I have owned, and the quality of this car is excellent for the price. I have had no problems with it in the two years I have owned it. The interior is nice, the leather is comfortable and easy to care for. Make sure you get the floor mats from the manufacturer though, or they wont fit.
