  • Just keeps getting better. - 2014 Honda Accord

This is the 4th new accord I have purchased. My first one faithfully served for 18 years and I am finishing my 7th year with my third. #2 got totaled at 12 years of age. The improvements in noise and fuel economy compared to the 8th generation is nothing short of astounding. Computer regularly shows 36 on the highway and averages overall about 29. The CVT with paddle shifters is really smooth in operation always having the correct ratio. I love clicking the negative paddle to increase the engine braking when going down hills and off ramps. Sport mode brings the engine to life for twisties. A manual will always be more fun but living in PDX metro area traffic is too frequent for it.

  • Buyer beware: The uncomfortable drivers seat should be recalled!!! - 2014 Honda Accord

I test drove my new Accord for a few miles and everything felt fine. I immediately felt lower back pain when driving the car home from the dealer. After making daily adjustments to the seat, and trying different seat cushions and lumbar supports, I came to the disappointing conclusion Ill never be able to comfortably drive this car. The drivers seat should be recalled to address the following issues: 1. The metal plate in the lower seat back stabs into my back causing debilitating pain after a 15 minute ride. 2. The active head restraints lean too far forward causing severe discomfort on my neck and back. 3. The seats are far too firm, like sitting on cinder blocks.

  • I love it - 2014 Honda Accord

Best car I have ever owned. Definitely worth the value.

  • Worst Suspension Ever - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

I am a previous owner of a Nissan Maxima, which had a sport suspension. In that car I did feel lots of bumps, but body roll was minimal, and the ride felt composed. I mention the above because I dont think I am hypercritical. This car has the worst suspension I have ever encountered, I am disgusted every time i drive it and i will be selling it within a year. Not only do you feel every bump, there is a huge amount of body roll, and I would say it feels wild and out of control on the highway if you do anything outside of a textbook lane change. I am beside myself that others do not feel the same.

  • First Car Review EVER! 2014 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 - 2014 Honda Accord

Coming from a Nissan Xterra to an Accord coupe took some getting used to but Im glad I went with my decision. I was looking for something that would save gas, be reliable and have some pep out the gate. By no means is it a real sports car, but it has enough in there to get around traffic. As far as reliability, I only have 6 thousand + miles on it, so far so good. Only time will tell how reliable it will be. Gas savings is as advertised. Im averaging 24mpg combined. No ECON button on and doing 80% city with 20% hwy. I do love the road trips though, I get around 36mpg. Overall, Im satisfied except for the radio. That needs some improvement.

  • Make sure you customize sound settings! Great Car! - 2014 Honda Accord

For $19.3k I think I got a terrific manual Accord. But only 600 miles so far, cant speak to reliability. I preferred the Accords manual stick to the Mazda 6 manual stick. I swapped OEM tires out for Continental PureContact Eco Plus and was surprised at improved handling and even quieter ride. Much quieter ride than the Mazda 6. This is important to me, I like handling but low profile tires are a liability in the NE with its potholes. And the handling is plenty great with 16" rims.

  • Lesson learned over 10 years, buy Honda. - 2014 Honda Accord

Hit 11K today after a 620 mile round trip. MPG is well better than stated, I get 34 highway driving it like I stole it. Im just SO happy with this car. Its smooth, fast, comfortable, full of the latest tech, reliable and affordable. All Ive done is put gas in it and change the oil around 8K (theres an oil life guage that tells you when to change it, I change early. Amazing. It took 10 years to learn the lesson to stick w/Honda after my 2004 that was bullet proof. I replaced a 13 Altima, bought back under lemon law due to numerous problems, largest being dropped the transmission twice within 7k miles. The Lord works in mysterious ways, got enough $ to upgrade to the V6. Love my Honda!

  • First 10k miles disappoints former loyal Honda consumer - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

My 4th Accord LX (89, 96,01 my fiancée had the 11 EX-L my mom had a CR-V and now owns the 13 Odyssey)! Without trying to sound too unforgiving, Honda has finally lost my complete attention. This harsh review stems from two issues. Interiors cheaply built in general, need far better craftsmanship, durability & quality. Competitors, like VW offer way better feel, textures, and look (my 135 lb fiancees 11 leather armrest & seat wore out torn by 40k my 14 has a hole in driver floor mat from only 2500 miles, now big enough to fit an apple to a hole in the interior floor carpeting. Thankful, owning more than 30+ cars on none had this ever happened. Highly regret not getting a Passat :(

  • Very Impressed - 2014 Honda Accord

I have had my new Accord EX-L 4cyl for two weeks now and have been very happy with it. The car is roomy, well appointed and the fit and finish is excellent. The CVT that mimics a regular shifting transmission is excellent and the 4cyl has plenty of performance. On my first road trip, I averaged 41.7mpg going and 39.8mpg returning. Admittedly, that was driving @60mph, which for me is fast enough. At 70 years of age, Im in no hurry to get somewhere...just getting there is enough. My only negative is the ride. While not bad, it is definitely on the sporty side. The amazing thing is that my insurance only went up .40 cents over my older car with the exact same coverage. Very happy here.

  • Buyer beware of not being able to access Navi while moving - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

Turned in 2011 leased Honda Accord V6 and picked up the 2014. Everything is really outstanding except for the navigation system. We were not aware or advised that it cannot be fully accessed while the car is in motion. This is really bad, since the passenger is disallowed as well. The voice commands dont work well for us, and its a lot more distracting. This is a real deal breaker for us, and I wont be getting any more Hondas, unless this changes. The menu system is a lot worse than the 2011 model and a lot more difficult to navigate through the commands with a lot more extra steps. Also the center console has less storage space and is less convenient.
