This Year's Model Updates:

Once again, Honda's best-selling model is redesigned. Changes for 1994 make the vehicle more competitive with its midsize rival, the Ford Taurus. Shorter and wider than the previous-generation Accord, the 1994 model is available in three trim levels. Antilock brakes are standard on the EX and are finally available on the LX and DX. New engines across the board improve horsepower figures for all Accords.

Over a doz. years of low maintenance and low cost driving. Very few problems at all. Was repainted several yrs. ago. Ride getting a bit bumpy but still a good over-all maneuverable car with body style still similar to current models.

My car is 98000 miles now. The engine rattles very loud, (very annoying)... Steering is very light (easy to loose control).. but overall, car is very reliable..

Purchased a gray LX used at 38k which was assembled in Japan. Changed Radiator, Ignition key switch, Battery and tires once. Runs great at 101k without any hesistation. Recently my friend tested it at 115 MPH still has some power. Just do the regular maintenence in the manual she will last a long time. Driver side window rolls up slow maybe need new motor.

I have been driving it for a few years, it has over 250k on it but the odometer wasnt working when I purchased it. I have put a couple thousand miles on it and have had one problem that was fixed cheap because I know a mechanic. The timing jumped when I was racing it (which should be expected at about 300k). It doesnt burn oil, gets great fuel economy and runs smoother than even some new cars, but has been getting rusty in the usual places(which I will have fixed soon). It had a cold air intake when I bought it and I can definately say it made a big difference over stock compared to specifications I have read online. Only complaint is rust...but for a car with about 300k, its expected.

My Accord is still going strong after the two years that Ive had it. It now has 136,000 miles, and still no major mechanical problems. One power window went out, trim piece on drivers door broke off, power antenna stopped working, and one speaker has died. As of lately, the display on the original radio goes off and on. Putting my finger in the cassette slot and pulling out usually solves the problem. So far it has been worth the $5,000 I paid for it. I plan on driving it at least another year or so until I get a pay raise, then Ill get a newer Honda.

190k and still runs like a top. I would drive it across the country right now. Looking for another 50 gr out of it.

The car runs great at 94,000 miles but the drivers window had to be repaired 6 times the hand brake got stuck in they up position, the trans. got stuck in the drive position, each time the alarm is activated the radio asks for a security code - it is only suppose to do that when the battery dies and that happened about 5 times, the seats that fold down in the rear bounce back up, and the sunroof gets stuck periodicaly and theres nothing the dealership can do! Beware of this piece of junk!!

  • My accord isnt fun a fun car - 1994 Honda Accord

It has good looks and interior. However, while the car is quick, it doesnt provide driving fun as I have to slow down upon corners due to its imprecise steering and mediocare suspension (not as good as my 93 Mazda 626ES). Reliablity? Good for the first 5 years but only ok at 57,500 miles (serviced regularly). Quite a few rattles, silly alarm often cut off my fuel suddenly in the middle of a highway (dangerous), right headlight burnt out twice per year, engine stalled a few times and master cylinder of my power brakes failed. But according to the many nice reviews here, maybe I am the only one who got a lemon.

Bought Aug 1998, put 25,000 iles per year average. I now have 264,000 miles and still running! Have only had a few repairs over the last 7 years and have no regrets. Minor trim issues (horn buttons, a/c knobs - broke off around 180,000 miles). All in all it has been a joy to own and caused no unusual problems!

  • Hoping for the Best - 1994 Honda Accord

I purchased this car yesterday (10/7/2005) with the idea that I would drive it for 18 months then turn it over to my son when he turns 16. It has 138k miles on it and the most significant option is anti-lock breaks. The primary body problem is a small rust spot behind the drivers side rear wheel that should be easy to fix. The car looks very nice for being 11 years old. There are no tears in the fabric and the dash is not cracked. The body looks good except for the rust spot. The paint has held up well and is still glossy and the plastic trim has not faded. Car starts and runs well but transmission is a little rough. Pick up is not like my 6 cycl but I did not expect it to be.
