This Year's Model Updates:

Once again, Honda's best-selling model is redesigned. Changes for 1994 make the vehicle more competitive with its midsize rival, the Ford Taurus. Shorter and wider than the previous-generation Accord, the 1994 model is available in three trim levels. Antilock brakes are standard on the EX and are finally available on the LX and DX. New engines across the board improve horsepower figures for all Accords.

I loved this car. Someone ran into me and totaled it, otherwise I would still have it for a long time. When it was totaled it had 175,000 miles on it. Never had anything break on it. The ABS light was on and needed a new computer.

Bought my 94 DX 4dr. new, now have 74K mi. Reliability good -- would be excellent if it werent for Y2K. That year, the door handle broke off on an icy day; the starter quit; and oil seal leak nearly killed it forever. Honda recalled for that problem in 2001, but it took American Honda about 8 months to reimburse me for my repair. Reasonably comfortable, good mileage. Too reliable, though. Its so deadly dull that Id love to trade it in for something that doesnt scream "Daddy car!", but I cant justify a new car payment when this will probably last another 100K.

  • Almost loyal as a dog - 1994 Honda Accord

This has been a reliable car. Before I owned 2 Chevy Cavaliers (ugh), an Audi, a VW Golf, a Ford Escort (double ugh), and a Chevy Celebrity Wagon. Only the Audi and the Golf lasted longer; now at 108,000. However, the finish (white) lost its luster in the FL sun after a couple of years. Recently it wouldnt start within a couple of minutes of shutting off the engine, as when you get gas or are running errands. I just had to replace the master brake cylinder and now stops are bumpy and one setting of the AC doesnt work any more. In thinking about a new car, I wonder if any one that I can afford will hold up as well.

bought the car with 140,000 from a good friend. her mom had bought it brand new off the truck in 94, still runs and drives like a new car, tons better than the ford thunderbird it replaced!

  • Best front wheel drive Sedan - 1994 Honda Accord

So far Ive owned this car for over 3 years, and still have no major problems. I guess its because i owned a troublesome 99 Ford Contour before this... good riddance! The Accord was number one in the FWD sedan category back in the days and can still be if modified correctly. Even though the stock engine makes almost no power, i managed to swap it with a 200hp DOHC prelude engine with a 5 speed, added a better sport-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, and still didnt manage to break my bank account. Compared to the flabby ride it once was (still a lot better than other sedans back in its days) its now a quick, maneuverable sports sedan! Theres tons of after-market support for this car!

  • Love my Honda! - 1994 Honda Accord

I love this car! Its my second Accord, and its better than the old 83, which had rust from little driving. Instead of abrupt changes, the Honda body style evolves, so the car doesnt look 12 years old, even parked next to another Accord. Ive had absolutely no trouble it. I feel safe and secure in my wagon, and I can haul a washing machine or camp out in the back if I must. The worst thing about this car was my friends reactions. I sold a sports car for it, and they were stunned I went suburban wagon. That said, they all call when they need to move something or take a long trip! I agree with other writers, its time for Honda to return this gem to the American market!

I got my white, LX 5-speed brand new at the age of 16. Twelve years and 335,000 miles later it still runs like the brand new. It has never once let me down or left me stranded. Have had to replace only a few things, only because some parts just have to wear out. Interior shows no signs of wear, the body and paint look brand new (have repainted hood and front bumper). Recently purchased a 2001 S2000 for sunny days, but I kept the Accord as a daily driver. Buying a older, well maintained Accord is a smart purchase for anyone!
