Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Very Satisfied - 2015 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought the Sport after test driving an LX. I found the seats on the LX unacceptable. Also, I thought the gas pedal on the LX was a bit too eager. The salesman suggest I try the Sport model, and it is a vast improvement. The drivers seat is adjustable every which way and comfortable. The CVT shifts smooth and the acceleration is great. I am very satisfied with this car. Although, I would advise anyone thinking of buying an Accord to move up from the LX model. The difference between the LX and Sport is huge.

  • Second hand 2007 Honda Accord Sedan V6 6MT - 2007 Honda Accord

This is the third Honda Accord Ive owned, (95 EX Sedan I4 5MT (Sold), 01 EX-L Coupe I4 5MT (current commuter)) and the first V6. I picked it up for $10,000 flat at 93,000 miles. I knew I needed to do the timing belt which I picked up the whole kit, Honda genuine and with all pulleys and tensioners, spark plugs, and all for ~$400, the job itself was straight forward, Honda has a good layout with the J-series engine and this engine bay. The job took a good chunk of the day and now it is ready for another 100,000 miles and 7-10 years. The car is now at ~105000 miles and it is an amazing car. This V6 is smooth, the shifting is short and precise, clutch is smooth as well steering is connected and who knows who was driving this car before me and how abusive they were, I cant really tell. I was worried about MPG (well, not really I was happy for the power) but If I behave I can get low to mid 30s on the freeway and low to mid 20s around town. The navigation, while outdated, is still quite good. It registers all the roads I need in the SF bay area and knows the tricky interchanges, giving you detailed information about which lane and such, it obviously doesnt have all the newer subdivisions. The brakes are my only huge complaint for this and all my Accords, I will be replacing them soon, thankfully it is quite easy to switch out the pads/rotors for higher quality aftermarket parts for this generation. The interior is very comfortable, excellent sound system, everything works inside, A/C gets too cold sometimes. :) Dash cluster is simple, controls are aesthetically placed, leather is holding up well and it all cleans up nicely. The performance is outright amazing, C/D gauged the 0-60 at 5.9s during their test of this car and I wouldnt be surprised if this car at its current age could still pull that off, it is very quick off the line. It can even walk away from many of the newest family sedans at a stop light. Even with my very lively driving style it isnt leaking or burning any oil and between the regular oil changes I do I can see the oil itself still has quite a bit of carrying capacity. This is a solid setup: sedan for the family, good safely rating, ample room, excellent engine/transmission combo, and all the features that we would be looking for in a newer car. Replacement parts and aftermarket support is plentiful and at a good price, insurance is also reasonably low. I was lucky to find this particular model and a great color (Copper Bronze Pearl). I can say I have no regrets with this car with this car and my wife loves it too which is a huge plus. We got what we both wanted, I got the engine transmission combo I wanted in a family sedan, and she got her four doors for future car seats and kids, seat warmers, and ample room for family trips. I purchased it knowing it can and will easily give me 7-10 more years with me doing all the routine oil changes and maintenance myself, my other two accords are over 200,000 miles, this one should be no exception. Im also free from the fears of a high milage automatic transmission.

  • Best Car Yet! - 2015 Honda Accord

Bought my 2015 Sport a few months back, was kind of iffy about getting a car with a CVT, but have had no problems with it! I owned a 2012 LX and this car is much nicer and you get an assortment of standard features that still dont come on most cars. Love having Bluetooth and a backup-camera! Also love how the sport looks compared to all of the other models that the Accord comes in, love the dual exhaust!

  • Great Work horse 347,000 miles and still going - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my car new in November of 2005. I drive over 33,000 miles a year (yes I know I am not carbon friendly). Anyway this car has been amazing. Great for the everyday commute and the vacation getaway. I live in the mountains and work in L.A. so most winters I have to run on chains 30-40 minutes each morning and each evening during the winter. Other cars and 4 wheel drive trucks have gotten stuck or crashed but NOT my Honda. In the 347,000 miles I have had very little trouble. I have replaced: right rear wheel bearing (once) one electric fan motor one air conditioning High pressure valve one starter At the 310,000 mile mark she started using a little oil. Now at 347,000 I need to add 1 to 1.5 quarts of oil in between oil changes. I still get 30 mpg and everything- radio, gauges, ac and heater, heated seats still work perfectly. I just looked at new cars and because of there price I am sticking with this one. My mechanic has said "this car rides better than most of the 100,000 mile cars he works on" and because I park underground and clay and wax the car regularly the paint is still in amazing shape. Great Great Car Thank You Honda!!

  • A Honda Accord in 2001, 2013 and 2015 - 2015 Honda Accord

Just to give you an idea about the Honda Accord: our first car was a Mitsubishi, and it was spilling oil in the parking lot at 85K miles. The second car was a Saturn, and the engine started making horrible noises at 100K. Then I got the car that I read about: the Honda Accord. I drove that car for 235K miles with minimal maintenance and it just kept going, until the manual clutch went. It had the original shocks and muffler after 11 years. So in 2013 we got a new Honda Accord, and within a year someone skidded into the Honda on an icy road at 60 MPH, and ripped the drivers side apart, the door held fine, the airbags went off and we were fine inside the car. Just last month I just got a Honda Accord for my wife, because being safe and having a roomy, comfortable, fun and very safe car to drive is what we want. To recap: that Accord is an excellent choice for budget minded people who want the best.

  • Awesome car - 2012 Honda Accord

I purchased a pre-owned 12 Accord EX-L coupe no Navi with about 32k miles. Ive had the car for about 7 months now and love it. I do about 24k miles a year so I spend alot of time in my car. The seats are comfortable for me and the passengers. Its got plenty of room for a coupe. My mother whose a little older has a little trouble getting in/out but once shes in there shes very comfortable. I would recommend this car to anyone. Highly reliable, comfy, and most importantly affordable!

  • Best Accord Ever! - 2015 Honda Accord

I purchased my 2015 Accord Sport in late April. I have owned several previous generation accords, 1990, 2002, 2012, and this is by far, the best one. It looks great and is very sporty. It is a classy looking car, with a sporty flair. The sport package had everything I was looking for. The comfort of the drivers seat is better than any car I have ever owned. I have seen the 2016 refresh and I can honestly say I am very glad I bought the 2015. The 2016s front end refresh is gaudy, with this huge piece of thick chrome on the grill. Also, all of the shiny surfaces in the 2016 interior are over done, and make it look a bit tacky inside. The 2015s interior is classy and sporty. The best looking dash of any car I have owned. And the alloy wheels on the 2015 are much better looking than any of the 2016 wheels. This will be a car I would consider keeping for the long term. I have also found that I can get just as good on gas mileage without the ECO button on, as I can when it is on. I just watch how I drive. But with the ECO button off, I have the power I need, when it is needed. I have gotten up to 525 miles on one tank of gas, and can always get at least 450, with about 65-85 miles left to empty. I am averaging about 30-31 MPG, per tank. On some trips, or short distances, I have gotten up to 38 MPG. This is a great car that has exceeded my expectations.

  • Honda Accord 2003 2.4 L Engine - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

These are some pretty reliable cars as long as long you take care of the maintenance on them. If you take care of your Honda, your Honda will take care of you. Use synthetic oil and change your oil every 5,000 miles and service the transmission every 30,000 miles. Your catalyst converter will need changing every 100,000 miles and you o2 sensors may require changing when every your engine light indicate changing of the o2 sensors. These are the basis requirement for keeping up your Honda and if you do this, the car will last you as long as you take care of the car. Miles on a Honda mean absolutely nothing but another mile just as long as you care for the vehicle.

  • 200K Miles and still purring - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought this car new in Oct 2004, fell in love with the pickup and go she had. It has been the cheapest car to maintain, all routine maintenance and only 1 major repair thus far, a thousand dollar a/c compressor clutch a couple of years back. My youngest son just got this car as I got my new Honda HRV 3 weeks ago!

  • 2015 EX-L Coupe V6 6MT HFP San Marino Red - 2015 Honda Accord
    By -

The HFP kit was an expensive option but well worth it. The suspension upgrade increases handling tremendously, the wheel/tire upgrade is a no brainier. The aero kits give an already aggressive stance a boost. Honestly, Im amazed by how many people are taking pictures or asking about the car in parking lots. The 6spd manual transmission is as smooth as silk shifting and the clutch wont wear you out in rush hour traffic on freeways. A lot of people complain about the interior in lower trim levels but the EX-L trim level has a very nice interior. Power from the V6 is really good and the car seems faster than a lot of vehicles with comparable power to weight ratios. I also installed the Borla axle back exhaust which gives the car a very pleasing note and even some burbling when letting off the power. Well worth the $700 extra cost.
