Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Honda goes down hill - 2016 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my 4th Honda and after owning this car for 5 months I truly will never buy another Honda again!!!! What a joke. I can5 even believe this carries the name Honda on it. I so disappointed with the car that Ive tried trading it 3 times and I would be losing a substantial amount of money. The car is uncomfortable on long rides, there is a rattling noise in the dash that just started last month and the service department cant fix it. The gas mileage is not what is on the window sticker. The acceleration on the highway is horrendous. The only good thing about the car is the exterior styling. Like they say never judge a book by its cover. What a mistake it was this time. Looks like I will be going American for the 1st time.

  • BIG DISAPPOINTMENT - Consumer ALERT - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I submitted a rating about a year ago on this car - it was glowing. Well, no problems except ONE BIG ONE. A recall on the auto transmission. I rated the car all "1" (low), since nothing else matters if the car has a bad transmission that could cause an accident-this is in their recall notice! I asked about the reported tranny issues before I bought the car. I was told the problem was solved in the 04s. I guess not. So now, I have to have Honda put an oil jet in (my car is 2/3 of the mileage to needing a tranny replacement - so it is likely the tranny is damaged at this point - and so I just wait for a failure). THIS IS THE HONDA QUALITY EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT!!! DISAPPOINTED ! ! !

  • You call this a car - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought a Honda because people say they are great cars, are they ever wrong. The car feels very cheap and has to be taken into the shop every other week or so to fix some glitch. The interior quality is poor, not up to the standards of even the poorest domestic car. The gas milege, a measly 24 MPG quite frankly stinks. The price for this car was way to much for the car that you get. The pathetic engine can barely propel the car down the road, and the transmission has to down shift to even go around corners. Dont buy this vehicle

  • Disappointed - 2016 Honda Accord

Im just making my 2nd payment today on my 2016 Accord and it is in the shop with electrical issues very disappointed. I really would like to return it now. I went from having a Nissan and wish I had went back to Nissan.

  • Hideous Wheels - 2017 Honda Accord
    By -

I have owned 3 Accord Sedans, all EXL, both 4 and 6 cylinders. Think the car itself is the best on the road. I would have purchased a new one last week except for the only available wheel on every car on every lot ... talking the EXL4. Hideous wheels, cheap looking, not the least bit refined or classy, why belies the rest of the car. I would never buy a car with those wheels. Brain dead on the part of Honda.

  • A Reliable Car it is not - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my second Accord with a major repair bill (transmission, and starter motor) before it had 60,000 miles on it. Honda does nothing to offset these repair costs (nearly a $1,000 a piece.) There are many complaints on-line re. the starter motor and yet they refuse to recall the part. They were rude and dismissive when I called Corporate to complain. DONT BUY THIS CAR!!!!

  • DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my 2009 Accord, and I HATE it. I have previously owned 2 civics and an Acura CL and this Accord is by far the lowest quality car of them all. After two months the paint on the front started chipping and Honda refuses to do anything about it. It has been the WORST customer service experience EVER. I am trading in the car after 6 months of ownership. Seats are uncomfortable and the car is expensive for the quality. Gas Mileage could be better. I get about 400 miles per tank, but that is 18 gallons of fuel. PLEASE do not make the same mistake I did, Honda has really let the quality consumers are used to go downhill.

It has broken down a couple of times.

  • Want the worst car - get a Honda Accord - 1997 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my sesond and last Honda. After reading all the reviews here and in Consumer Reports I figured my first experience with a Honda (car had to be sold for junk with less than 100,000 miles) was an anaomoly. Wrong. My second Honda is just as bad. Fuel pump blew, electrical system has more things wrong than right, alternator had to be replaced. If you want to be stranded multiple times then the Honda Accord is the car for you. Im going elsewhere

  • Dont buy base on reviews - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Went over reviews on several makes and based on reviews, purchased a Honda Accord. (1) Start off dealer support is non-existent, car was recalled several times and getting in to the dealer or getting any thing done is not worth the hassel. Dealers think they are there just to sell you a car. (2) Car is nosiey, can not hear the radio on the road. (3) Fit and finish is bad, the leather interior has bubbles and torn is several areas, rubber front window molding has melted and no longer seals, not even talking about the front headlights covers. (4) Front cup holder is under the armrest and useless. (5) I have been driving for 50 years and this was the first cat that had the back brakes replaced before the front, Honda recalled but was useless in getting reimbursed (less than 30,000 miles). (6) Gas mileage is acceptable but no where near what was posted on sticker. (7) I have driven this car for ten years and is ok for a daily driver but I will not buy another Honda again.
