This Year's Model Updates:

For 2003, BMW will finally offer a DVD-based navigation system -- meaning that you won't have to give up an in-dash CD player if you opt for the nav system. Other changes include a standard front armrest for all 325 models, as well as a rear center headrest for all sedans and wagons. Additionally, all wagons will come with a moonroof. In terms of options, the Premium Package for all 325s now includes automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, and the Sport Package for the 330xi includes double-spoke alloy wheels and run-flat tires.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Pricey for its market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

I have owned this 2003 330Ci since new. Used the BMW Euro Delivery program. Car has been very reliable. Issues? Sunroof, ignition coils replaced under warranty. Otherwise nothing, but I am a fairly conservative driver, and dont drive it hard other than the 600 miles on the autobahn at 90-120 mph when car was new. I routinely obtain 27-30 mpg (5 speed manual, 80% freeway driving with a light foot). Great car and I likely will buy another soon.

  • Best Ride I Ever Had - 2003 BMW 3-Series

I purchased my 94 325 from a used car dealership. they let me drive it for two days before making a decision. It had over 100k on it but it looked and drove like new. I smiled at the other reviewers remarks about looking at their car as they walk away. Guilty! It is truly a beautiful car. Classy and sporty. I still would not feel that way if the performance did not match the looks.. and it does.

  • OVERRATED - 2003 BMW 3-Series
    By -

Bought new in 03 and always garage kept. Just turned 36K miles with all easy driving. My feeling is that you pay more for a better quality car with the expectation it will hold up better - WRONG!! Had to replace front/back pads & rotors (mostly highway miles) ignition wires, window trim parts, coil spring (never hit a pothole)+++. I really feel the BMW is overrated. The ride is hard especially in rear seat and people complain its hard to get out of the seat because of the lack of leg room in back and door pillar on side. Also the resale value drops like a bomb after a few short years. All things considered, I would not buy another BMW.

  • Love This Car - 2003 BMW 3-Series

Picked this car on 5/28/03 with 4 miles on it. Paid $50 less then TMV. Its now 6/14/03 with 3550 on it. Drove from St. Louis to Queens, New York to Atlantic City, NJ back up to Northville, NY and back to St. Louis. Ran into everything but snow. This car drives like its on rails. Worst thing about teh car is the dealerships. Had to take off the lot,to get the color and options I wanted had to put down a Non refundable deposit. Which I would not do (for any car). (For

no problems...opt for 330 for greater performance. Xi drives like it is on rails...wet weather is a joke for this car

  • BMW 03 Failure of Equipment - 2003 BMW 3-Series
    By -

Tail light harness melted and not working. New transmission after 1000 miles. 4-window regulators replaced. Sunroof mechanism replaced. Radio dial does not work. Front tires ride noisy. No one can fit comfortably in the back seat. BMW will not help you with any parts that fail even though they are inferior products that should not have been used in this car. Parts are cheap and are meant to break to keep their parts and service dept. busy. My husband and I have owned 20 vehicle together and we have put more parts on this car then in all of our car combined. Its sad and never buy BMW, buy a Lexus!! or something more reliable . BMW does not care about fixing their problems.

  • Put the Top Down - 2003 BMW 3-Series
    By -

This one of the most fun cars to drive. It handles like a dream and really hugs the road. No noise problem with the top up and very comfortable with the top down. Low profile tires make for rough riding on city streets with potholes. Hazzard light switch on console becomes easy target for the dog. The dog now turns on the hazzard lights whenever he is in the car alone!

  • Interior design - 2003 BMW 3-Series

I love my BMW except for the completely uncomfortable front passenger seat and nearly unusable console. Additionally the seat belts are difficult to use and are positioned so that the belt sits across your neck and continues to tighten as you move. Except for the cup holders, I find no way to use the console compartments. The interior design will have to be significantly improved before I purchase anothe BMW 3 series coupe.

mst looking car-holds the road on the road-convertible tops is flawless-191- 20 mpg-ride can be hard-back seat uncomfordable for full size adults- glove box too small-needs deeper storage bin between seats-fast and steady-corners well-be carefull pulling up to concrete parking strips as front end catches on concrete and pulls out (off) of front end and is expensive to fix-service at dealers excellent-will buy new on in 2004
