Other than a new tire-pressure monitor and altered engine management (for reduced torque steer), the Acura TL is mechanically unchanged for 2006. As with all 2006 Acura cars, there is a longer powertrain warranty for the TL. It now provides six years/70,000 miles of protection. New SAE testing procedures have dropped the TL's horsepower rating from 270 to 258.
- Luxurious interior, long list of standard equipment, powerful V6 engine, slick-shifting six-speed manual, pleasant blend of ride comfort and fun, superb sound system.

The Air cond. doesnt cool in Arizona - 2006 Acura TL
By Jim - May 15 - 12:36 amI loved this car for the 1st 18 months I owned this car except for the over weight front doors that are out of balance. Performance, comfort, handling, gas mileage and overall looks were all great. Last summer it stopped fully cooling down on hot days. I took it in for warranty service 3 times and they said it was working as designed. Really sad, now Im trying to get rid of it. You cant have a car with bad air in Arizona during the summer.

Best Car in it class - 2006 Acura TL
By Mohan - April 29 - 12:20 amThis is my first luxury sedan. I had 2001 Camry and wanted to go for German car either Bimmer or Audi. I did lot of ground work by comparing all the cars in the 30+ category. I was always going back to Acura 3.2 TL because of its new look and field more over it comes with so many features (XM satellite radio, blue tooth, and voice enabled navigation) with lesser price than Bimmer and Audi. I had test drive and I felt the car is so stable and good. The sales person was very nice and explained every thing. The buying experience was hassle free. I am driving this car for the almost one month. It is fun to drive. The Surround sound system and navigation is really awesome. Good luck!

Correction to My Previous Review.... - 2006 Acura TL
By AmyB - April 27 - 2:24 pmUnder my "Suggested Improvements" Mystery solved on the seat that kept sliding back when I got in, making me have to reset to my auto-setting. Dealer had only given me one set of keys..keys are marked "Driver 1& 2"..I had Driver 2 key and my seat setting is for Driver 1. Got both sets now..so when you open car, or start it with key 1 or 2, corresponding seat setting applies automatically. So there is no problem with the seat backing up automatically, as I originally thought...only had to do with the key & driver settings matching up!

Great alternative to Volvo - 2006 Acura TL
By RGH - April 10 - 11:23 amTraded an 02 S60 T5. Turbo lag and no back seat was main reason. TL seems to be a great car for the money. Exceeded my expectations. Handling is great, firm suspension, flat cornering, good acceleration although low end needs more torque. I would recommend the TL over the other cars in this price range. Great value.

By AmyB - April 7 - 2:29 pmI bought a 2006 in Feb of 2009 and I love it! Best driving car Ive owned, even compared to a luxury sports car I have. A mechanic I know described it as "the car that you feel one with when you drive it!", and hes exactly right. Smooth, beautiful, easy ride, without being cushy or boring. In other words it has great road feel in a good way, but is not hard...its nimble, agile, firm but smooth as silk. Beautiful interior....open & airy, with classic sleek styling and perfect ergonomics. This is a lovely car, inside and out. A lot of comfort, luxury and style for the price range. Only been two months but so far so good....Loved it instantly upon first test-drive and even more now!

Great car, bad experience - 2006 Acura TL
By Ash - March 20 - 5:17 pmI recently bought my 06 TL and love it!! I will stick with Acura from here out! I gladly traded in my 06 Mercedes CLK( it broke down two weeks into purchase!) for the TL and am happier then ever... Even though these are very diff cars ( luxury vs sport) the clk just does not compare at all!!! TL has all the power and looks comp to clk plus a whole lot more! And most are standard. Beautiful car, beautiful performance and it will definitely outlast a Mercedes! Love love love my TL!

By bella_tl - March 15 - 2:56 amfinally broke down and bought an 06 after buying a certified 03 TL (i had been w/out a car payment for so many years, i couldnt imagine spending that much on a car) but after drooling for 2 years, i couldnt take it anymore! this car is beautiful..from every angle and i absolutely love it!! i cant stop thinking about my next drive and i love it more than i could have imagined..almost obssesed with it.

Great Value - 2006 Acura TL
By Nick - March 14 - 11:50 amIve had a Maxima for 4 years and had every intention of getting an 06. I drove the Mazda Speed 6, a handful of SUVs, the 06 Maxima and finally this TL. By far, the TL is the best vehicle for the money and a significant upgrade against the competition. The low-end torque is a plus over the Maxima. The build quality is truly in cut above the rest (at least in my snack bracket). For me, the blend of luxury and performance are what attacted me to the car and keep me smiling. Cant believe this is a base vehicle with no options!

An overall winner - 2006 Acura TL
By LisaB315 - March 9 - 8:36 pmI can truly attest to this cars performance, having driven it for 80,000 miles and 3 solid years. It is a fun car to drive, be it in the city or on a country road. Everything you can think of with a few exceptions (Ill get to those next) is included (not an option) like Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, driver & passenger memory seats, awesome navigation with touch screen and theres even a light in the glovebox. The downsides:no MP3 connection,no need for cassette player,rear seats dont fold, moon roof controls should be mounted on dashbord.I recommend Michelin tires for a quiet ride.The TL is extremely affordable to maintain- I still have my original brakes with 5k+ miles remaining.

The rattles and the jerking finally won. - 2006 Acura TL
By samsam - March 8 - 10:28 pmI was so excited when I bought my 2006 TL. It was and still is one of the best looking cars on the road. However, after just one week the rattles began. I should have listened to other reviews. I tried for 2 years to pretend they didnt bother me because the car is beautiful and reliable. The real problem is the ride to the TLs prior to 2007 suspension upgrade was just too rough and it shakes everything loose. You cant even enjoy the DVD audio because ALL the speakers rattle and no one at my Acura dealership could fix them. I had a 2007 loaner once and noticed they finally fixed the suspension-that car was quiet. I finally gave up and traded it in this month (not for another Acura).
