  CVT performance is disappointing - 2016 Toyota Corolla

  Overall, the 2016 Corolla LE is a reliable, adequately functioning car, ride is comfortable. At low to moderate acceleration, the CVT functions well. At moderate to hard accelleration, the CVT forces you to learn to accelerate from a stop. For your safety, I suggest you not attempt to merge into high speed traffic from a full stop. If you floor it, it will not shift until 5000RPM. It acts like it is hung in its current gear while accelerating slowly. What you learn to do is pre-select your level of desired acceleration, rev the engine the related RPM(2000, 3000, 4000), hold it there while the CVT goes through its shifting. However, at highway speeds (55-75mph), it performs well at maintaining its speed. I contacted the local Toyota service department and they assured me this performance by the CVT is as designed by the Toyota engineers. He said that due to tight manufacturing tolerances there should no fear of thrashing the engine up to redline if it is properly maintained. I have driven personal and rental cars and trucks with 3, 4, or 5 speed automatic transmissions for over 30 years. If you decide to buy a 2016 Toyota Corolla with CVT tranmission, you might want to test its hard acceleration from a dead stop to to see if you are satisfied with its performance.

  I enjoy my 2016 Corolla very much. It is a cute car and Corollas have been around for decades. My first car as a teen was my moms old Corolla so this is sentimental. They keep their value and do well. My dog Spike likes the car, too. I saved money by not getting back up camera and cruise control so that is good. I don’t really need those. The car is great.

  This car does EXACTLY what it designed to do...thats to be economical. After 1000 miles.. we learned that being great on gas is all its good for. Do not expect great comfort in log trips.. 2.5 hours is about tops for seating comfort.. anything longer than that.. you need to upgrade to something with more bolstered seats. The driving performance is par for a 4cyl Eco-saver. But the steering is surprisingly tight, and handles the corners quite gracefully. Speed above 85mph you will notice air starting to get under the car and the feel of the car sticking to the road starts to fade. Around town driving places this car at the top of the list for sipping on fuel. But, please know you must have patience while in traffic...for this car will NOT jet you in and out of traffic because of sloth-like acceleration. And please, please avoid road rage.. because the horn sounds like a fisher-price toy horn.. so dont embarrass yourself by honking and giving off explicit excerpts. In all the wifey enjoyed its fuel conservation.. and the daughters liked its cute style and practicality. Its a great car for city life, and a great car for the child..IF they travel less than 1hour...

  This Corolla S Really Hugs the Road... - 2016 Toyota Corolla

  It was a choice between the S Premium and the LE Premium but I knew I wanted a Corolla! Ive been driving Corollas since 1992 and it has been my favorite model of all the Toyota cars. I also owned a Camry XLE for the last four years but didnt like how it handled in the New England winter weather; too much car with not enough traction control. If you want a more cushioned ride, go for the LE model; but if you want to feel the road and have more control of the handling, go for the S model. I chose the S Premium because I wanted to upgrade to the luxury of heated SofTex seats, moonroof and an awesome Entune Audio System with Hands-free Phone capability.

If you have baby you can put car seat up front really great too and the clip work great.for first time even with 740 grade you will not get 0% apr.
