  • The Best Car Ive Ever Owned - 1994 Toyota Corolla

This little Toyota wagon is a jewel. Ive got 160k miles on it and it runs as well as the day I drove it home. I, too, had to replace a water pump in the first year or two of ownership and also had a leak in one of the CV boots in the 3rd or 4th year. Other than that Ive only had regular maintenance done on the car and replaced normal stuff when it wore out. It is the perfect size and gets good mileage with an automatic transmission. The only thing I would change is I would like a little less road noise and a little smoother ride but then its not bad for this price car. My friends with big maintenance bills for their BMWs and Mercedes are envious!

I bought my 94 corolla DX back in 07, my aunt was going to buy a brand new camery and the dealership was only going to give her $1,400 on trade for her corolla. me at the time was driving a 99 kia sportage wich when i bought it i really thought it was a very nice looking suv. but thats all that was good about my sportage. it was a money pit! so I bought this corroalla from my aunt wich she had bought this car brand new. it only had like 104,000 miles on it and like 14 yrs old at the time. and @187,000 and no plans of trade in no leaks uses no oil how ever i did change the oil from reg. 10-30 to 10-30 synthetic blend. great car not afraid to take it anywhere.

Bought my 1994 wagon fresh off the 1st production line in Sept 93 (The last yr made in Japan). I dont drive much and keep it garaged so it still looks & runs the same as day 1!!! Havent done anything but regular maintainance- fluid changes, brake pad, battery, tire & wiper blade replacements- Thats it. I only have 50k miles on it so Ill have to give it to someone when I get tired of it because it wont die in my lifetime. I agree with another viewer that the Matrix is not a viable replacement because its trunk is way too small- but its built with the same frame & engine. Im going for the Prius next. Its hatchback trunk is a decent sz & it sure is sexy compared to the Corolla.

  • Still loving this car - 1994 Toyota Corolla

I wrote a review in 2007 about how great this car is and it is just as terrific now. What a totally reliable vehicle, how do I get another one just like it, maybe I wont ever need another one? I have 187,000 miles on it now. I think the body style looks current and the seats/mats are better quality than the 2009 Civic. Plenty of acceleration for me, excellent mileage, great A/C and defrost, perfect usable size. I cant believe the resale value now is only $1,000, it is worth so much more.

I purchased my 1994 Corolla 2 years ago for $1000 at 127K. I replaced tires, brakes, and some other "wear & tear" stuff and I use Mobil 1 fully synthetic. I just hit 177K on the odometer and needed shocks and struts. The car runs so good that I couldnt justify replacing the car and I did the suspension work. I drive this car hard and still get 30MPH on average. Its stable and sure footed at well above legal highway speed, fits four comfortably and I dont mind when my wet Chocolate Lab. gets in the back!

  • Great 1st Car - 1994 Toyota Corolla

This car was pretty much my present for my 18th birthday. I browsed around for a car and found this at a dealer. I drove it and was instantly attached to it. Yeah, its not the fastest car on the road, but what I was looking for was there. Reliability. I live in the northeast, so there are things that are going to need changing (brake lines, exhaust system, stuff that rusts over time). Other than that, no mechanical problems to this very day. Very good car for a high school/college kid.

i love my car. i got it junior year of high school. its been great to me. i always did all the oil changes and tire rotations, i never had a problem. the alternator and start went around 160K, but thats to be expected. i traded up for an audi and im already worried that i shouldnt have. rollas are great for younger people and those looking for great mileage in the city.
