Overview & Reviews
After a full redesign last year, the Nissan Maxima heads into 2010 pretty much unchanged. Nissan has simplified the sedan's options packaging by offering one unified Technology package rather than three. Also debuting is a Monitor package, which allows customers to enjoy a 7-inch color monitor without having to first purchase the Technology package. Bluetooth is now standard across all models.
- Precise steering, strong V6, high-quality interior craftsmanship, plenty of high-tech features, excellent iPod integration.
- Lacks the brand cachet its price tag might imply, compromised middle rear seat with Sport or Premium packages, equipment stuffed into expensive packages.

Dont warranty to be approved. - 2010 Nissan Maxima
By tbeard0902 - July 7 - 10:31 amI own a 2010 Nissan Maxima. I took it to Gray Daniels Nissan in Brandon MS for a warranty claim on the driver seat back. The pins on the seat back had broken and thus the back was laying on the rear seat. The claim was denied by the service manager in Aug. 2012 and again in January 2013 and again by Nissan Customer Care. The reason for not approving the warranty was that their was physical damage. However, they agreed there were no tears, scuffs, marks, or scratches of any kind on the seat or seat back. Thus the very reason we came to Nissan was for warranty of the broken pins and the reason we were denied warranty was that the pin were broken. WOW!

Recall Please - 2010 Nissan Maxima
By Blu one - September 1 - 6:36 amThese cars have some real problems. Only have 1700 miles, and when the accelerator is pressed it sometimes does not go. This is a serious problem and if you have one you need to take it to the dealer.

Serious CVT Problem - 2010 Nissan Maxima
By Serious CVT Problem - April 25 - 6:23 pmAs others report, there is a dangerous problem with the CVT. After driving hundreds of highway miles twice this summer in very hot weather, the transmission failed to downshift into a lower gear upon exiting the interstate, leading to a dangerous loss of power. The owners manual indicates that this may happen during certain conditions to protect the CVT. The first time this happened the dealership found no problem. The car is being serviced, now, following the second time, with intervention by Nissan corporate. Clearly, Nissan knows it has an engineering/design problem. This may be an issue for the National Transportation Safety Board. I recommend staying away from Nissan CVT products.
