This Year's Model Updates:

After a full redesign last year, the Nissan Maxima heads into 2010 pretty much unchanged. Nissan has simplified the sedan's options packaging by offering one unified Technology package rather than three. Also debuting is a Monitor package, which allows customers to enjoy a 7-inch color monitor without having to first purchase the Technology package. Bluetooth is now standard across all models.

Pros:
  • Precise steering, strong V6, high-quality interior craftsmanship, plenty of high-tech features, excellent iPod integration.
Cons:
  • Lacks the brand cachet its price tag might imply, compromised middle rear seat with Sport or Premium packages, equipment stuffed into expensive packages.

  • Solid Near Luxury Sedan - 2010 Nissan Maxima

I thought it was bit pricey until I test drove my new Maxima SV. Its a solid near luxury sedan with excellent performance. My only concern was with the CVT but Ive learned to like it especially for economy and the manual mode is a hoot but watch out for the law as this thing gets up to speed in a hurry. My mileage has averaged about 24 in combo driving which Im quite satisfied with. In my opinion, the exterior (mine is Crimson Black) is absolutely gorgeous and the interior is about the most comfortable of any vehicle Ive ever owned.

I have owned every in the $30,000 to $40,000 range. Nissan maxima has proven to be the best. Performance, driving, warranty and gas mileage. I own a 2010 with everything and its a dream car to drive. I think the only car better is infinity. Maxima has redesigned this car with you in mind. The driver seat fits you like a race car. You feel very safe and secure. Gas mileage is okay as long as you dont get on it. All I can say is what a car. Im very happy. Sincerely, Larry Mathews

The car handles and accelerates extremely well. The CVT has yielded very good fuel economy for a car with 290hp. The CVT unfortunately takes away from really making the maxima a four door sports sedan but it does make it feel and sound more like a luxury sedan. If you want to impress you can really use the driver sport mode to make the car sound and feel more like a normal automatic transmission which I have used quite often.

When Nissan tagged this "the four door sports car", they werent kidding. Very fun to drive, excellent technology and a great price point.

The new body style is what drew us to our 2010 Maxima. We love the winter frost color and the car come with so many standard features it was to good to pass on.

  • Amazing... - 2010 Nissan Maxima

Picked up my Maxima is Navy Blue with Black leather fully loaded... Amazed with the quality of materials but more amazed with the power. I was on the verge of getting an altima v6 when the GM of the Dealership had me test drive the Maxima, a "real" v6 and holy moly... Altima was out of the race instantly and now this beautiful Maxima sits on front of my house. Could not be happier with it!

These cars have some real problems. Only have 1700 miles, and when the accelerator is pressed it sometimes does not go. This is a serious problem and if you have one you need to take it to the dealer.

I drive over 45,000 miles a year, my Maxima was purchased 9000 miles ago. Past cars include a 2002 Avalon, 2005 TSX and 2006 TL. These 2010 models were all included in my new vehicle search. During the test drive, the ride did not stand out like the Avalon or the TL, but it wasn’t bad. Both the Acuras I owned before were extremely responsive vehicles and had a great feel for the road. The 6 speed transmission and the quietness of ride stood out for the Avalon, but it was bland. It was really tough to steer away from 2 car manufacturers that proved outstanding reliability in the past. Each of those 3 cars had over 150,000 miles. In the end, I just wanted a change and have no regrets!

Purchased the SV with Tech and Premium Packages in April 2010. This car has it all for so much less than the premium nameplates. The ride is outstanding, acceleration is great, handling superb. The best part is that no one knows! I love the fact that I see very few Maximas on the road. Has every feature that you could want; Nav, Bose, Heated(and cooled) seats, the list goes on. This car is a great value for the money..The deals available at Nissan dealers were unreal..
