Overview & Reviews
The Hyundai Sonata is redesigned for 2015 with a more refined look and a larger cabin. A new Eco trim level with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine also debuts, although the more powerful 2.0T trim level has nearly 30 fewer horsepower.
- Smooth ride
- Lots of standard and optional features for the money
- Quiet and roomy interior

Comfortable commuter car for tall guy - 2015 Hyundai Sonata
By jeremy1980 - May 22 - 7:06 pmAfter looking at many different cars in this class I chose the Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.4L with the Sport Premium Package. Being 65" I was looking for something with plenty of room for me an comfortable seats that still got good gas mileage. My first long trip was 340 miles round trip out I-70 and I-68 to Morgantown, WV. I averaged 31 MPG even given that it is a very mountainous trip and was very comfortable. I paid $22k and was $23,800 out the door with tax,tag and fees plus the $200 add on for tinted windows that I need to take back to have done still. My two kids had plenty of room in the back as well.

Good not Great - 2015 Hyundai Sonata
By dankocke - December 27 - 12:37 pmPurchased 2 weeks ago. Bought in Florida and drove back to Missouri. Overall this is a fine car for the money after rebates and discounts. I like cooled leather seats so I bought this instead of Toyota, Honda, etc. Its put together very well, drives great, and is super quiet. The engine sounds a bit strange but at higher speed it is unnoticeable. Car is plenty fast... much better than 2.4l. Gas mileage is ok but should be better - 28mpg on 1000k mile trip home at 75-80 mph. In town it hovers around 24-26 mpg. Overall for all the features it is a good value. Best Nav in the business. Seats are a bit hard but with good support, so be sure to check it out before you buy.

Feeling Mislead - 2015 Hyundai Sonata
By ken1584 - October 9 - 9:57 pmNever again, Hyundai. I chose this car over the Camry and Accord based on the ride and rich set of features that were advertised with it. The Blue Link option was what tipped me over the edge in going the Hyundai. Its been three months since I bought the car and Ive found that some of those Blue Link options were just vaporware...items that were advertised, but never materialized. Things like Geo Fencing and Valet and Speed Alert, which were prominently advertised when I bought the car are still not available in my car and no longer appear on Hyundais marketing site.

Pretty much what I expected - 2015 Hyundai Sonata
By woiferl - October 5 - 4:54 amIf you do your homework, this car doesnt offer many surprises. However, I would say the comfort and engine arent as terrible as some say it is. Its a family sedan, so you wont do 0-60 races that often. Theres some turbo lag to get it off the line. However, the mid-range strength is about what youd expect from 245hp and does not disappoint. Plus, if you need more agility, you can use the shifter paddles and youll be zipping around fast enough to guarantee tickets. The seats in the Sport are stiffer, but also provide more lateral support - they are not Mercedes quality, but then you can get a loaded Sport for less than $25K. In terms of value, this one is hard to beat.

Your feet will freeze in the winter - 2015 Hyundai Sonata
By Susan - May 16 - 9:52 pmI have put very few miles on this vehicle in the last year. Unable to drive long distances in the winter due to poor air flow to the floor board which is most uncomfortable during cold months. You can not have a comfortable ride in the winter with the climate control of this vehicle. Service advisor at dealership had an attitude with me when I complained after they stated that it runs "normal". Normal appears to be a real crappy heat system - beware if you live in a cold climate. There is also a blue glare from the dashboard that reflects into your side mirror making you think there are "blue lights" behind you. I am very disappointed with the heat issue and have owned a Hyundai for 13 years. Buying the extended warranty didnt help.

Very good car, could be better! - 2015 Hyundai Sonata
By John - January 19 - 6:37 amIve had the car for a little longer than a year with almost 6,500 mi. Its my first Hyundai and Im generally impressed with the overall build quality and performance of the car. Because of its quietness and solid road feel, it makes a great trip car. The seat support is very good and the dash arrangement is logical which makes it easy to use while driving. The roomy back seat is comfortable for 3 adults and the oversized trunk is well laid out, great for grocery getting and large suit cases. A few miner complains though; (1) Exhaust note, needs to be refined, doesnt sound all that great. (2) Holds first gear a little too long when accelerating even in sport mode. Overall, I really do like the car. The outside styling is very nice and the ride is firm and takes most bumps and dips in the road with a secured refinement. I just couldnt give it a perfect 5 stars. Sorry, Im picky!

You get what you buy - 2015 Hyundai Sonata
By ajnsh - July 30 - 4:55 amThis car is beautiful on the outside. It will definitely get you noticed on the road.I got it a few weeks ago and was very excited about it. But not even a few days later my car developed turbo waste gate actuator rattle. This was a known problem in previous generation 2.0t and it wasnt redesigned or fixed. Hyundai just said that this is a normal characteristic of this car. If it rattles like a trash can, would it be normal? It sounds like a lose heat shield and you can hear it at acceleration and even at higher rpms. Deal wasnt able to do anything about it, so I am waiting until my next maintenance and see if it goes away. If not I will have them replace the whole waste gate/turbo.
