  • New king of mid-size - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Other than reliability, everything about this car beats my previous ride - the 07 Accord. And the only reason the Accord scores higher in reliability is because Ive only had the Sonata for a week and a half. Time will tell. Prior to purchasing to Sonata GLS, I test drove the 2011 Accord SE and Fusion SEL. How did I go from mid-level trim to base? Well, the base level Sonata offered everything, and at times more, the mid Accord and Fusion came with. The Accord had the smoothest ride but the Sonata had the best all around package. Ey-catching styling, peppy acceleration, overall smooth ride, amazing standard features, and excellent mpg. This has got to be the car of the year.

  • On my third Hyundai - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Ive owned the 03, 05, & the 11 sonatas, and I am sold on the car. I love the look, the reliability, & gas mileage of the car. The front seat is a little uncomfortable. Its just shaped unusual. I love the bluetooth hookup. The stock stereo sounds good, but I dont blast my music. My window tint is holding up very well. I love the huge trunk, & the fact that you can tip the back seats down to make room for longer items from the trunk. Stock tires didnt last long at all, but Ive replaced them with better tires with long warranty. The car rides quiet & handles great. When Im ready to buy another car...I will be looking at another Hyundai

  • Former 2009 Camry Owner - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Owned Camrys since 92. Traded in my 2009 Camry to take a chance on Sonata. Glad I did, Love the car. Love the interior features and the exterior look need I say more. Had for only 872 miles so far. Two tanks one at 21.5 mpg and then 28 mpg, so improving. The ability to manually shift is fantastic when you need it! Not as cushy a ride as a Camry, but the standard options such as bluetooth, XM, 6 Cd changer, Homelink (garage). Leather. My prediction is it will be the 2011 Car of the Year.

  • A bit of a disappointment - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

With less than 350 miles on my new Sonata GLS, the negative outweighs the positive. I received my car with a defective passenger door latch making it hard to open and close the car. Next the car has interior rattles which is atypical of a new car for any price. The clincher was when I noticed that my cloth driver seat is already showing wear and is fraying around the seams! On a positive note, the car drives and steers well. But, I must wonder if this is typical, or I have received a lemon which Hyundai and my dealer will correct - AS IN REPLACE.

  • My 2011 Hyundai Sonota GLS - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Ok this is my first new car, Im a 47 year old driver, and I consider myself a prudent consumer. I did alot of research. My issues with the car that made me write this review. The XM satellite. NO SiGNAL, called xm several times, still no signal. I dont want too blame the customer care but obviously they are not technicians. It made me thinking of the other problems I have with my car. Riding over potholes, not a very smooth ride, Not smooth at all, The other issue, the swaying too the left, ooo I cant stand it. I really dislike it at this moment. I wish I had more patience but i dont Im tired of dealing with shady Car people and customer service people who arent trained, Im PSSST

  • Not Bad for a $20K Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I have 38K miles on the car...my lease ends in May 13. Overall, it has been a good car, although a bit on the boring side. Reliability has been excellent. I had to bring the car in for a recall early on during ownership, but it was a quick and painless process and Hyundai provided me with a $25 Visa gift card as an apology for the inconvenience of bringing the car in. The initial sales experience and all subsequent servicing at multiple Hyundai dealers have been outstanding. Hyundai seems to go out of its way to be friendly and efficient. Only issues are some cheap, hard plastic on the interior which squeak often over rough roads and the poor steering which is always off-center.

  • Initial Limited Opinions - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Just drove the car home this afternoon, about 100 miles total. Took a very short test drive before I bought, but after spending about 11/2 hours behind the wheel today, have to say Im disappointed with the comfort level of the leather seats. Granted Ive been driving Toyota Avalons for the last 10 years, so I knew the comfort level would be a step down but the seat seemed rock hard the longer I was behind the wheel.

  • Pulls Left !!!!! Hyundai Cant Find a Fix - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I was very excited to purchase my Limited in October, but became extremely frustrated that the car continually pulls to the left. I have had it to the Dealer three times to have it fixed. Not only did they not fix it, Hyundai wont even acknowledge that this is a probem with the new 2011 Models. Google "2011 Hyundai Sonata Pulls Left" BEFORE you buy one.

  • Bad Experience - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I purchased my 2011 in may. I drove my car to Memphis and was coming through ms and my car stopped and would not start. I had to call roadside and they had to tow my car to Pine Bluff ark. It was said that it was the fuel pump and it was not. They had to replace the fuse box. I am very upset, my car has been in the shop since the 13th of July. They had to order a fuse box from Korea. Finally I get a call to say that my car is ready today, 29th July. My car is being shipped from pine bluff, because I live in Texas

  • Initial thoughts... - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Just purchased the Limited 2.0T model tonight... put 75 miles on it and must say I like it. The car is quiet, smooth, peppy and is averaging about 26 mpg so far in a mix of driving. Love the bluetooth interface and all the luxury items you get with the Limited trim. I think someone said headroom was tight in this car in some review...not true. Im 62" and have plenty of head and leg room. Do wish it had memory seats though. I still think its the best bang for the buck on the market...hands down. Ill update again after Ive driven it for 6 to 12 months and well see if anything changes.
