This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Hyundai Elantra sedan is completely redesigned. Horsepower hasn't increased, but interior room and fuel economy have improved significantly. The five-door hatchback is out of the lineup for now but will return later in the model cycle.

Pros:
  • Smooth and secure ride, responsive handling, attractive cabin design, adult-friendly backseat, tight construction, all major safety features standard, low price, long warranty.
Cons:
  • Engine is noisy at mid-to-high rpm, a few low-grade interior plastics.

This car feels like more expensive car than it really is.. I like they way this car handles and drive - very smooth and quiet. cabin is well isolated - very quiet on highway. nice interior design - especially nice looking blue lights. almost 2000~3000 cheaper than Japanese competitors. fantastic value! overall, i rate this vehicle as an excellent all around compact sedan with high buid quality.

  • I DONT LIKE THE WAY IT SHIFTS GEARS - 2007 Hyundai Elantra

i have been driving this car for 2 months, and I thought I would get used to it but it just drives me crazy the way this car shifts into 4th gear at about 35 mph and then has no power. When you slow down it will shift fine. This is really annoying to me because I drive during rush hour traffic and the flow of traffic usually moves around 35-50 mph

  • Most Car for the Buck in a Compact - 2007 Hyundai Elantra

I did extensive research and while there are cars in its class which have more style, more power, more reliability, more cargo room, more mpg, and get u more pats on the back, the Elantra scores high enough for me in all the categories above, but it comes in at 100s to 1000s of dollars cheaper than others in its class. Only 1400 miles on it, so my reliability rating is just my expectation based on last gens Elantras. The 132 hp is more than ample for everyday driving. Engine and cabin is fairly peaceful when cruising above the spd limit, but potholes can ruin that peace easily. A speedometer issue was fixed for free. MPG avg still only 27 in mixed hwy/city driving.

  • Awesome Little Ride - 2007 Hyundai Elantra

So I just bought the Elantra, pretty much the first one in the area which is pretty sweet. I have only driven it for about 150 miles, but all the first impressions are Great! Interior with all the blue lighting is awesome. Standard features are great too (with prefered package on GLS model)! It drives very smooth, very smooth, Its easy to be going faster than you think you are. 70 on the highway with low noise. test drove 06 Civic, 07 mazda3, 06 Chevy cobalt, and a few others, and there is no doubt in my mind that I bought the wrong vehicle! Its the best in its class.

Good build. Fuel economy at 65 rates around 35-37 mpg. Got 45 drafting a semi at 60 the other day so all in how you drive.

Although the electric power steering takes some getting used to, I really like this new & improved Elantra. My other car is an 05 Elantra, so its easy to compare them.

  • BMW Replacement - 2007 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

I traded in my BMW 328i for this Elantra and I really couldnt be happier. I do miss the luxury of the BMW, but I love the gas economy of this Elantra. I am getting about 38 MPG combined city/highway. The comfort is very nice and the interior is put together very well. Just yesterday I drove this car through very heavy rain (it was practically a monsoon), but I didnt lose traction even once while going in excess of 75mph through standing water. I have owned a Honda, Acura, Ford, BMW, and now a Hyundai, but I would put the Hyundai at the top of the list because of its handling, reliability, and gas mileage.

  • Honda Civic Replacement - 2007 Hyundai Elantra

After owning many new Hondas including the Civic, I found a replacement for the Civic in my Elantra SE. With a KN Air Filter and 100% synthetic motor oil, my mileage is consistently 35-36 MPG combined city/highway. This rivals the Civics economy. The Elantra also has many more creature features than Civic for about $4,000 less. The ride is solid and very stable. The comfort is a little better than a Civic and the exterior is every bit a good looking as the Civic. If the reliability ratings continue into the future as they have in the past on Hyundai, then Honda better watch out as this car will eat its lunch. I was wondering when some car maker would catch up to the Civic and the Elantra has

  • Your answer to Honda and Toyota - 2007 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

I did extensive comparison between Honda(Civic & Accord) and Toyota (Corolla). Did not include Camry because of bad cust reviews. It is a shame that Edmonds, Kelly, Consumer Reports give a so so look to Hyundai and go GA GA over Honda and Toyota. For cabin room, comfort, gas mileage, fun-to-drive, etc. you cant beat the Elantra. Plus the best price and warranty. I have had mine for 3 months and love it as does my wife. The Civic & Corolla were too small. The Accord seats are stiff while cabin room is almost the same, The Elantra has more front leg room which I like and is much more comfortable. Give this one a good look because it definitely beats the competition!

  • A very good car - 2007 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

I spent a couple of weeks testing other cars like Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, etc, and after driving the Elantra for sure it was the best decision. Ive had it for over a month and I love it, the gas mileage is good (about 25 mpg city driving), you get ABS Breaks, power windows & locks, 6 air bargs, etc as the standard package. I think its a very good choice for the money you pay.
