  • 6 weeks of driving - 2012 Honda Odyssey

This Odyssey replaced a 2003 Odyssey with 120K miles, which was trouble free and an excellent vehicle. At first I did not care for the lighter steering on the 2012 model, which has less road feel - but now I like it. Steering is accurate, and effort less. Ride quality, and barking is very good. The engine has not quite the power of the older model, but it gets 25 mpg city/hway v. lifetime 22mpg - and I am happy with that. First time Ive had a nav. device. I like it, although I havent mastered the audio recognition yet. I have only done 2000 miles, but like the car very much, and would recommend it highly. My wife likes to travel in the middle seats, which she says are very comfortable.

I just brought it last week, by my experience, the worst part of this vehicle is its Navigation System, I bet, nobody can find the AT&T sore in it, I tried for 2 days to search just to check if it works. They charge 2000+ for Navigation system whereas for 300 we can get the best from Garmin or Megellan so never buy with a navigation. If i place the child seat in the 2nd row middle seat the enterance to the 3rd row is blocked because the bucket seat doesnt fold then. No place to put children toys etc.

  • Great Van But Now Question About The Build Quality, Drivers Door Handle Broke within 5 days of delivery - 2012 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have a 2012 Odyssey Elite which I just purchased 5 days ago and the driver door handle broke. I didnt pull the handle hard or anything and the the locks were unlocked when I tried to pull open the door handle. I was not able to open the drivers side door from the outside but I can open from the inside. @ less than 300 miles, I hear engine knocking in with or without it being in the ECO mode. I will have Honda inspect it when in service. I traded in a car (2006 fully paid off) that gaved me very little problems for a new (2012) car that gaved me issues already. But everything else about the Van is great....

  • The Perfect Van - 2012 Honda Odyssey

Wonderful Van, looks great inside and out. Drives and handles like my Accord, mileage is very good and we can lose our kids back there. Very roomy and comfortable. Nice job Honda!

  • Best Honda yet! - 2012 Honda Odyssey

We have owened two Honda Pilots, most resently a 2011 and a Honday Odyssey. The 2012 Odyssey beats our previous hondas by leaps and bounds. The comfort is unmatched and the room inside it is crazy! Plenty of pep and smooth acceleration when needed. Plus, 20 mgp is hard to beat in our mountainous region. We couldnt be happier with our new Odyssey! Cant go wrong here.

  • Like the newer style , but liked interior of 07 - 2012 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have been driving a 2012 (bought used) for almost a year. I traded in my 07 Odyssey for the 2012. I like the updated style of the exterior, but I miss some of the features of the 07. It drives/handles just fine, no complaints. There is quite a bit of road noise, for the $$$ a quieter interior would be expected. I like the way the 3rd row seats fold so easily. The center console is a poor design, once you put stuff on top, its a hassle to get to anything that may have been put inside. Drawers would be a good idea. We miss the cup holders on the sides of the 2nd row seats. There is a center fold down with cup holders, but that isnt always down if there is an extra passenger or if the kids want to spread out. It is comfy, both the 07 and the 12 are super comfy and roomy. Weve taken road trips with 4 adults and 2 kids with plenty of room for everyone and their stuff. I wish the power lift hatch was available on the lower models, I paid more because that is one feature I really wanted; but the other features arent used often. All in all, were pleased, but it is expensive.

  • I am now a believer in the minivan - 2012 Honda Odyssey
    By -

The minivan...what a great invention. Never thought Id get a minivan. It was always RR and S550, but boy what a wonderful and practical car. Ive driven my buddys Sienna and it does not compare to the Odyssey. Toyota tried too hard, whereas Honda is just so good in this market. The only gripe that I have is that someside door armrest stains do not come out easily (i.e. sunscreen residue). Other than that, the slow acceleration, long braking distance, plastic interior pieces are all expected in this vehicle. I will always have an Odyssey in the garage. Perfect road trip and people hauling vehicle.

  • Total Garbage - 2012 Honda Odyssey

I had a great experience with my 2009 Odyssey and made the mistake of purchasing my 2012. This van has had one problem after another and the dealer (Norm Reeves Irvine) uses every opportunity to try and rip me off. A noise complaint turned into a $650 power steering pump replacement that did not fix the noise. The sliding door has always had an intermittent grinding sound and was finally recognized by the dealer after the warranty was up. The car broke down and left us stranded with the main computer completely malfunctioning. The brakes are too weak and constant require maintenance. Im absolutely done with buying any Honda in my lifetime.

  • Simply The Best Minvan - 2012 Honda Odyssey
    By -

This car purchase has been by far the best one we have ever made. Seriously, once you are a Honda Odyssey owner, you are one for life. We purchased our 2012 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite new for our growing family. We had a 9 year old, a Labrador, and newly born twins and needed a large vehicle. Our intention was to purchase an SUV but after test driving them and comparing them to a minivan, there was no other sensible choice. After trying multiple other minivans, the clear winner was the Odyssey. The build quality was far more superior than any other make. Too many other vans had really cheap "chrome" - why? Our van is now 5 years old and we have never had any trouble other than replacing tires that probably wore out too soon. We chose the Touring Elite because it was the top of the line and had all of the features we wanted. Now for what we dont like- Navigation is dated and was so in 2012, USB is in the glove compartment and Bluetooth has a built-in delay which is totally annoying. The front drivers seat could extend a bit further back too. Our next vehicle will be a new Odyssey in for near future.
