I bought a 2011 CRV because we I wanted a quality vehicle before I retired. I wanted something that should last a long time with minimal maintenance. Before I retired, I want to purchase a vehicle of good quality and low maintenance. This is definitely not what I thought I had purchased. I had to replace the tires at 17,000 miles, Honda puts on junk tires just to get them off the lot. Putting on good tires on was $700 and now at 24,500 miles the airbag light stays on and I am told for $650 they can repair it. ( I also had a 2008 Accord that required new rear tires and brakes at 30,000 miles.) If I have another repair (other than normal wear and tear, brakes and etc.) the car will be going down the road. Honda is definitely not the quality vehicle that everyone seems to think they think.

  • Body Integrity - RUST !! - 2011 Honda CR-V

I would encourage all to check the bottom seal area of the doors for rust. Three weeks ago while while wiping down after a wash I noticed rust on the inside bottom of the back right passenger door. It freaked me out !! HOW ??? Took it the dealer ... it will get repaired next week under warranty (and it should). My car was purchased New Years Eve, 2010. Not sure if I will be keeping it.

  • A good car, not great. - 2011 Honda CR-V

6500 miles on the odo. Made it through our first northern Idaho winter with no problems. With winter tires we were able to get around almost as if there was no snow or ice on the roads. Gas mileage has been acceptable but not great, averaging 20mpg in mostly town driving. Other than the winter performance, I find it difficult to get very fired up about this car. The transmission shifts up and down abruptly, the interior is noisy and as mentioned below, the headlights are terrible. Weve also had some issues with the sunroof refusing to close. I have no doubt the car will start every time and get me where I need to go but some details need to be addressed.

  • CRV Tires are Junk - 2011 Honda CR-V

I purchased this CRV in May 2011, after 8,000 miles we got a vibration from the rear of the car. At 23,000 it was so bad I had to replace the tires with still half the tread left. When they pulled the rear tires, there were flat spots so big, the bounced up and down when they rolled them over to the tire changer machine. There was a 4" wide flat spot across the tires. It came with the Bridgestone Dueler HT470 tires. These tires are junk. Another item that disturbes me is the oil is constantly dirty. I started with using the oil life indicator for oil changes, but the oil was so black, I moved it up to 3,000 miles and it is still dirty. Even with the software update it is still bad.

Took delivery on my 2011 EX-L two weeks ago and its a tidy, nimble little package . However the drivers seat is proving so uncomfortable that I cant drive it more than a few minutes at a time. The seat is too small, rock-hard, lumpy, badly contoured , unsupportive (thighs) and doesnt go back far enough. Honda needs to take a serious look at this issue...

  • Do NOT buy! Poor design, not worth the money - 2011 Honda CR-V

Car has serious engine problems. Idle is very rough and you can feel vibrations transferring to the steering wheel. Problem occurs when the engine is fully warmed up and idle drops to 700 rpm. There is an unstable operating point which causes engine to resonate. I tested 3 different vehicles and all of them have this issue. This is clearly a design flaw and Honda refuses to acknowledge existence of the problem. Every time you stop at the light, you can feel vibrations like you sitting in an old American car.
