  • Great plain vehicle - 2011 Honda CR-V

Awesome engineering. easy to do small repairs on (air filters, etc.) I added foglights, it was easy, engineering is ergonomically amazing. poor performance, poor gas mileage, average or less than average stereo w/7 speakers. Everything else, though, is great. Great for the money. Bought cerfified used, was like brand new, leather seats are great, still is...just a great, reliable vehicle for the money.

  • 5 speed auto zaps fun to drive factor - 2011 Honda CR-V
    By -

If you mainly highway commute, this CRV is near perfect. City driving with steep hills, speed bumps, and tight curves causes undesirable engine luging and lack of power. The transmission does not let the engine work in its comfortable RPM range. A design flaw not present in the fun to drive 2015 Kia Soul. Since this review we have sold the CRV due to the poorly mapped transmission and overly tight torque converter. Driving the hills and curves in Hawaii was like whipping a lazy mule to keep the engine from lugging. The engine is a fine piece of equipment but the bean counters killed the transmission/torque converter to the detriment of the vehicle driving dynamics.

I love this car. Excellent for all my needs without too many frills. I got another one just like my previous one after insurance totaled the first one.

Great vehicle for road trips. Very comfortable. Handling is not as tight as I would like it to be. Just OK. Otherwise, it is the second most favorite car I have ever owned. First was a 1963 Austin-Healey I owned when I was 19. It is now about a year since I wrote the above review and the CR-V is still the second most favorite car I have ever owned. But, the older I get (74) the greater the distance grows between the second place CR-V and a 19-year olds beautiful red 1963 Austin-Healey........55 years ago!
