This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Honda CR-V is completely redesigned. It hasn't grown in size, power or seating capacity, but thanks to Honda's attention to detail, this small SUV is way up in practicality and refinement.

Pros:
  • Thoughtfully designed cabin with numerous family-friendly touches, high-quality interior materials, comfortable and quiet ride, agile handling.
Cons:
  • Could use more power for passing at highway speeds.

  • 2007 CRV Reliability not what you think - 2007 Honda CR-V

The Honda CRVs have a reputation of high reliability. Actual results from our 2007 model dont back that up. It has an AC Compressor bearing failure at 94,000 that was found by the dealer while it was being looked at for the known AC Compressor clutch problem. Symptom was an unusual noise that came from the engine area that subsided when the AC was engaged. It is quite noticeable during idle. Dealer wants $900 to fix it, plus they charged me $140 just to diagnose it. Way out of whack. It also has a "shudder" which appears to be a transmission failure. You may want to choose a different vehicle.

  • Rust - 2007 Honda CR-V

My 2007 Honda has started to rust on the back of the trunk lid. I have had it rust proofed every year since I bought it, this is on the surface paint. I have only driven this car two years in all the time I have owned it in the winter. Of course they say it is out of warranty, but would like to know if anyone else has had this trouble. The worst is around the plastic honda plate on the back. Anyone else have this problem and how did you get it fixed. I dont feel I should have to pay for rust when I have done everything I was told to do. I am sure if I fix one spot there will be others pop up. It looks like a money grabbing thing that isnt going away even if it is fixed.

  • Buy stock in a good tire company. - 2007 Honda CR-V

Have had this car for three years and already looking to buy a third set of tires. The car itself is fine and I feel safe driving my children in it but already looking to get rid of it due to the expensive cost of tires. We cannot keep buying new tires every year. Im on a budget and was looking for a low maintenance vehicle. Bye bye CR-V.

  • Seats not comfortable - 2007 Honda CR-V

Took a 3 hour trip and the seats are very uncomfortable. Around town is fine but for the long haul, no way.

  • Reliable and practical - 2007 Honda CR-V

Bought brand new in July 2007. The pros are that it has been very reliable. It has only needed routine maintenance. The only thing that has malfunctioned has been the windshield wipers (they go off on their own sometimes and wont turn off!). Acceleration isnt THAT fast but I did not buy this car for its power. Gas mileage has probably been around 20 mpg overall. Happy with the cargo space. Fits stroller and grocery bags and more!

  • Needs more power - 2007 Honda CR-V
    By -

I must say that over all I am happy with the CRV. It is the first SUV my wife and I have owned. The cargo space is great and rear seats are easy to fold down. I did have to replace the tires at about 25,000 miles, but my main complaint is the lack of power. I wish Honda would put the 4 cylinder engine from the Acura TSX in this car.

  • Stupid 2nd Row Seat - 2007 Honda CR-V
    By -

At first, I liked my CR-V, but as time went by, I dont like it anymore. Poor gas mileage and the noise from the engine is so annoying every time I accelerate. By the way, who designed the 2nd row seat? I thought they are folded and flat like the other SUVs, but they are not. They just tumbles and should be hung by a hook. I cant deliver a long item like a bookshelf, etc. The exterior design is so boring. It was O.K. first, but now it seems like its just too plain. Seems like have seen it before somewhere.

  • This Will Be My Last Honda!!! - 2007 Honda CR-V
    By -

We have about 65 kms on it. First off paint quality is garbage, the hatch has been repainted once already because of rust around the license plate trim. The car is full of rock chips, my sisters 05 Civic had the same paint issues! Had the rear diff fluid changed 3 times at 3 diff Honda dealerships as a precautionary service. They refuse to admit there is a problem. RIDICULOUS!! Still makes a noise! Rear pads and rotors replaced at 45kms! Sometimes the car wont even crank over on the first try. My 94 Accord winter beater has 300kms and has never had any serious issues. Honda better wake up and do something fast because they are losing very loyal customers. They lost us!! Time for a Subaru.

  • Room for improvement, but nice - 2007 Honda CR-V
    By -

Great little SUV, looks could be improved with front fairing wrap-around bumper (available in Europe). Not good if you need instant response from engine, one time I stepped on the gas and it seemed to take a second or two before it responded, if that is a safety feature its the most dangerous safety feature on any car, but you get a lot of stuff for the money...

  • Never again! - 2007 Honda CR-V
    By -

I had a 2004 Honda CR-V, loved it, but it rode rough. Bought a 2007 and it was a much better ride, but I have had problems with it. Initially I was having problems with it starting. The worst thing is it keeps wearing the tires out. I was told by Honda it was in the rear differential. I am on my 3rd set of tires at 50, 000 miles. Hondas solution---pay them almost $1,000 for new tires. The main customer service representative was very rude and discourteous. I will never buy another Honda car and will never recommend it to any of my friends again.
