  • Am I just unlucky? - 2002 Honda CR-V

I put a lot of miles on my car. Bought a Honda. Paid $26k for it out the door (loaded) and the engine light keeps coming on and the transmission just locked up. Merry Christmas to me. I hope it works out but beware. Hondas are not unbreakable!

The 2002 Honda CR-V was my favorite car! I originally bought it because it was easy to get in and out of for me and my infant with his car seat. It is an SUV with a small car feel. The cargo space is adequate. I was able to pack a bicycle, stroller, and a treadmill in the back. The 5th door opens "barn door style" and that was handy with groceries. To me, the look of it is one of the best years of the CR- V.

  • Not sure if I wanted a SUV - 2002 Honda CR-V

I checked out both the 2001 and 2002 versions of the Honda CRV. I was very pleased with the modifications that were made from the previous edition. In particular, I liked the greater internal capacity, the way the seats fold up, and the style of the body.

and Ill never go back. This vehicle is great - a lot of space, good performance, big enough to be an SUV, small enough to be easy to drive. This is definitely not the "girlie" SUV that my coworkers claimed it would be. It has enough power for it not to be an issue and good enough gas mileage to handle my daily commute. I like it a lot and have no regrets.

Did extensive safety research, and the 2002 CR-V and the subaru forrester topped all lists. Test drove both (plus the Toyota offerings: Highlander and the RAV4) -- fell in love with the CR-V. Subaru drives like a station wagon. CR-V drives like a much more powerful car. Its zippy and peppy. Ordered the standard, though, since the automatic shifted a little weird between 2nd and 3rd. Gas mileage decent (high 20s). Kid and 2 big dogs have plenty of room.

  • 3rd and last Honda - 2002 Honda CR-V
    By -

Purchased in Aug 08. Problems began after 75,000. Airbag light on for most of the time. Air conditioning died at 90,000 miles. Transmission dead at 105K and the gas tank neck needed to be replaced. After 165K the alternator died, leaving me on the side of a busy highway. All told, I have spent over $6,000 in repairs on top of regular maintenance. I would say the CRV is a piece of junk, but every one I know who has one, loves it and has had no problems at all. I got a lemon. But the highway incident was the last straw. Last night i bought a Volvo.

I just have one thing to say about MDs review. If you wanted a Buick, why did you by a Honda? What one driver interprets as a lousy ride another will call a great ride. Its called vehicle feedback and its the one thing a driver requires to interact with the vehicle while driving. The best example is a race car driver and his race car.

  • Lack of Oxygen - 2002 Honda CR-V
    By -

Purchased the car new and currently have 53,250 miles. I have enjoyed the car and it has performed up to Honda quality and reliability standards except for this recent experience. Both of the oxygen sensors failed at the same time and had to be replaced at 53,000 miles.

It is big, powerfull and fun to drive. I was able to fit 3 pairs of skis and two passangers with comfort. Also great for my other outdoor activities.

Well short and sweet, one of the best suvs for the price. I know it will last 250,000 plus no problem can anyone say that about their suv.
