  • The best car ... in the world! - 2000 Honda CR-V

Bought a 2000 CRV in 2011 with 198,000 miles on it. It was a good decision we have already put 60,000 miles on it with hardly any issues. Tire changes and oil changes. Biggest repair bill was a starter coil issue, cant remember how much it cost but it wasnt any financial difficulty and I replaced it myself. While they were figuring out what was wrong with my starter coil (this was at 227,000 miles) they discovered that one of the 4 cylinders was at 1/2 compression. Uh oh, time to get a new car? They said it would start overheating, I would get low gas mileage, etc. That was a year and 30,000 miles ago, it still gets 30 MPG in the summer (we trip-meter every gas tank, its pretty consistent). Never overheated, even going 80 MPG on the Montana highways, up mountains, etc. We drove to Missouri and back since hearing the bad news. A/C and heater still work, power windows, lights, everything. Only annoyances are the seatbelts not retracting after turning off (every vehicle Ive owned had this issue), road noise (spraying silicon lubricant on the old rubber weather seals around doors fixes it), and noise when making sharp left turns. Also, spare tire may explode if left in sun, best to make sure to keep a tire cover or park in garage. So heres whats up, get one of these. $4500 including repairs we paid for 60,000 miles of good gas mileage = 13 miles per $. Thats better than $16,000 for a small SUV that you put 200,000 miles on, and were still counting. Good in the snow, good in town, good in the highway. Small and easy to park anywhere, but seats 5 and storage.

  • Great SUV!! - 2000 Honda CR-V

We bought our CR-V in 2011 with 115K miles on it for a steal. Since then weve taken half a dozen long trips in it (900 - 2000 miles each) without a single complaint. It is surprisingly comfortable and big enough for our family of 4 (and Im 65") and a trunk full of stuff. Looks great, easy to clean, 27mpg on the hwy. Weve put 53K miles on it in less than 3 years. Maintenance costs are very reasonable.

Bought new in 2000. The air condition stop working in 2010 got the freon replaced and i was back in business. That was the only issue ive had in 11 years and its never let me down, not bad eh!. Its all about reliability and this little truck is still running strong with 335,000 kms on it. My daughter wants it so i guess ill go look at something new.

My grandfather had the honda cr-v before he had given it to me (purchased in 2003) I have had no problems with the car. I have replaced the gas tank (western, NY weather corroded it) oil changes, brakes.

  • Love it - 2000 Honda CR-V

Me and my family love are CR-V it is the best car we have ever had. There is over 143,000 miles on it and we have had only one problem and that is with one of are window motors on the passenger side. When you start the engine you have to stick your ear on the hood to hear the engine running. The only maintenance we have done on it was routine. We love this car, my own mother loves are car too, even though she only rode in it once.

  • Keeps going and going..... - 2000 Honda CR-V

I bought this Honda crv after having too many bad experiences with a 1999 VW Jetta. Whew. What a big relief getting rid of the former and getting this crv instead. CR-V currently has about 143,000 miles on it and I have had no major mechanical problems with it. It has never left me on the road alone. It is like the little engine that could. The looks are NOT deceiving for what is under the hood. It is a SMALL SUV, therefore a small engine. This vehicle is perfect for me as a single female with no baggage. I am a city person and 99% of the time I use it to commute to work and other places in the city. Its perfect for me.

  • Still Love This Car - 2000 Honda CR-V

I bought this car new in 2000, my first Honda after driving Fords. What a difference a brand can make. Honda dealerships have been great. Treat women like people, unlike Ford. Car is the best auto investment Ive ever made. 10 years later and 177.000 miles, it runs better than some of the used cars Ive just started test driving. Also being offered $4k for trade-in. Am now thinking about keeping car (rust and all) for another couple of years. Now gets ~25 mi/gallon. Only got ~20 mi/gallon for first few years. Not crazy about styling, but car is dependable. Had front end repaired a few months ago and muffler pipe replaced last year. Other than oil changes and tires, thats it.

  • Completely Rad Vehicle - 2000 Honda CR-V

I purchased my Honda used with 130,000 miles on it. I havent had any major problems. My only complaint is the power windows are dying and the parts are very expensive. My Accord had the same issue. The car handles very well even in tight spaces. My turn radius is better than that of my sisters compact car. I use cruise control whenever I can to improve my gas mileage. Visibility is very good in this model. My car seats four adults very comfortably. I wouldnt suggest a fifth person on a long trip because there isnt a head rest for the middle passenger. This car is excellent for road trips and has plenty of storage space and a table! It handles well on and off paved roads (I have 2WD).

  • Great buy for your $$$ - 2000 Honda CR-V

We purchased this car 0 miles, today the odometer reads 155,000, besides regular maintenance (brakes oil, gas!) this car has given us no problems. Its true what they say the car does not have a lot of power on the road but it drives great, its very spacious inside, it drives great in snow, and you cant beat the gas mileage. My wife loves it so much we are trading in for another CR-V and we hope we enjoy it for many more years.

  • 197K miles and going strong - 2000 Honda CR-V

Purchased my CRV in 2002 with 50K on it. I am 6 tall and there is plenty of headroom. Comfortable seats, could drive all day in it. Love the visibility. Dependable. Lost radiator this year. No other problems. Gas mileage has been good, about 28-29 mpg highway doing 70mph. Once in awhile Id like a bit more pep, but overall no concerns. Id like to keep this vehicle for many more years.
