  • VIBRATION ON IDLE - 2016 HONDA CR-V! :-( - 2016 Honda CR-V
    By -

2016 Honda CR-V Vibration Issue - More than two months ago, I started to notice a slight vibration under my drivers seat when at idle, e.g. sitting at a traffic light. Shortly thereafter, I received a notice from AHMC regarding a software update that needed to be done ASAP on my vehicle. The notice mentioned that, "the software in the PCM causes a low pressure problem in the CVT. This may allow the belt in the CVT to slip. If the belt slips, you may see a surge in RPM when driving at highway speeds. If the belt slips the transmission will be damaged and DTC P1890 (the CVT speed control system) will set." The software update was completed about a month ago and since then, I have experienced a more pronounced vibration under my drivers seat and even into the front passenger seat. The intensity of the vibration varies, but it has not gone away. Now that I have hit the 5K mile mark and had my first service done, I am afraid that the older the transmission gets, the worse this problem might become. The service advisor told me that the software update had nothing to do with the vibration issue, but I am not convinced. Before buying this vehicle, my research indicated that many customers with the 2015 model started to report the vibration issue right around this time (5K miles + or around the first scheduled service) and for most, the problem became worse. I am convinced that these issues are related to the new CVT transmission that was put in the 2015 and 2016 models. I have always been loyal to the Honda brand and I really like my vehicle, but I am starting to regret my purchase!!! :-(

  • 2016 Honda CR-V EX 4WD - 2016 Honda CR-V

Have had an EX 4WD for 3 weeks. It is just another great product from Honda. Everything is great to what I expected for this trim. To me, the only complains are: (1) The front driver seat. Somehow I felt it is a little bit small and it is not comfortable no matter how I tried to adjust it. (2) The headlight is kind of dim. BTW, I have owned Pilot, Accord , and Civic before

I like my new CRV, a bit pricy but it is definitely worth it. I have more space to carry my belongings and is great when taking a trip with family or friends!

  • New member to our Honda fleet - 2016 Honda CR-V

Have had a Honda fleet for the whole family since 1990, loved and love them all. Quality and reliability of the CRV-EX attracted us and did not disappoint. Not a luxurious interior, but more than sufficient if you are a practical sort. Was a bit surprised and a little disappointed by the relatively small gas tank, about 13 gallons compared to the 18 gallons of our 4-cyl 2.4l 2009 Accord which has fantastic range 450 miles on the highway. The CRV with the smaller tank has a lower range in the 300-350 mile range. Happy with the price we paid after shopping with dealers on the internet, just ask dealers for a quote and compare, and ask others to match your best price. When negotiating with dealers, watch out for the relatively expensive (~$500) dealer package (up-scaled floor mats, locking lugs, a few free oil changes) that they may push on you at the end of the negotiation after a couple of hours invested. Ask about this upfront and walk if you dont want this package.

Stay away from the 2016 Honda CR-V.... Vibrations issues that Honda has yet to solve. We have a brand new one with 4400 miles and took the suv in for service on the vibration issue and all they said was this was normal.

  • Serious vibration issue - 2016 Honda CR-V

Disappointed in the 2016 CR-V. It has a serious vibration issue. It appears that the vehicle was not designed to minimize the impact of the vibration of the engine and the entire car is constantly vibrating regardless of the condition of the road. In stop and go city driving it is less noticeable, but it becomes immediately apparent when maintaining speed at 45 mph and gets much worse at highway speeds - 65 to 70 mph. I did not see this issue mentioned in any online reviews and it was not noticeable in the test drive. I have subsequently discovered that there are many other CR-V owners with the same complaint and a class action suit has been filed against Honda. Honda acknowledges that the problem exists in some 2015 CR-Vs and claim they have developed a fix. They supposedly resolved the issue for the 2016 model, but that is not the case. Dealership has tried to fix it, but to no avail. It appears it is unlikely there will be a fix. In order to get increased fuel efficiency, they have sacrificed comfort for drivers. If you do any long range highway driving, I recommend that you do not buy this vehicle. I know many other loyal Honda owners and they have always been satisfied and impressed with the quality of the vehicles. Sadly, that is not the case with the 2016 CR-V. I will be getting rid of this car after owning it for less than 1 month.

Gas mileage is not what expected. Mostly hwy and 29 average not 31. Had higher expectations for mpg especially with the eco button. Other than that car drives great, handles good, and very responsive. Wish they had a 2.0 Turbo version.
