Dont ever buy the accord. - 2008 Honda Accord
By Drew - January 15 - 5:04 amI brought this car because I needed something good on gas and not 30,000 dollars. - the rear brakes went bad at 40,000 miles - the front bumper stated sagging down from the Hood and headlights - cant get over the road noise. I blast the radio every time I drive it. - the car nudges when acceleration like the car not getting enough gas. Does have good power over 3500 rpm. - the seats are hard. Back hurts after long drives. Feels like you are sitting on a blanket with a piece of plywood on top. I thought when I brought it the seats would break in over time. Not this car. The seats are as hard as the day I got it. Now has 80000 miles on it. - chrome paint on grill is flaking off. Paint on hood started comming off. Looked like it was bubbling underneath the paint then every time I washed it I loosed paint. Has the hood painted at 50000 miles. I still cant get over the hood getting painted. I mean every time you get in the car and look out the window you always see the hood. - overall I still own the car. I wish I sold it to a couple who wanted it more than I did. Ive had Hondas in the past. But this one has the be the least one I like. The others were a 1986 crx. That was the most fun Honda I ever drove. It was fast good on gas everything. Next was a 1996 accord. It ran and drive fine when I sold it. Nothing went wrong with it. All said and done. For new honda owners test driving a car does not tell you everything. I know a lot of cars have the good things and the bad things about them. I brought my honda because at the time were the best selling cars. It looked cool sporty and in my price range. My 1990 mustang looks better and had no problems like the accord. But I dont think Ill buy another Honda. Ever

Never again - 2008 Honda Accord
By Sharon - August 9 - 5:23 pmAt 96000 miles, I just put my 5th set of back brakes on the car! Honda tells me its the way I drive... Funny Im driving a Toyota for the last two years and the back brakes still need replacing... Other than a new battery at 3 years and problems with spiders and webs causing a sensor to break, front brakes x 1 and tires etc its been reliable that is if you dont mind replacing back brakes every year or two!

Not the Honda you remember - 2008 Honda Accord
By pesci - June 17 - 8:07 amAvoid this model. I came off a 2005 honda civic. Best car I have ever owned. Not a problem at 117k miles and still on original brakes. So where to begin with this car? I bought this over priced junk with 30k miles on it. Traded it with 97k miles. 1. Brakes went out right away. . 2. Battery went out at 70k miles. 3. Vinyl on center and door panel armrest bubbled, split 4. Seats feel like wood. 5. Interior rattles excessive 6. Glovebox defective on all models 7. Chrome peeled off brand new oem steering wheel emblem. 8. Bushing wore out of shifter very quickly

Bad Rear Wheel Bearing Assemblies also... - 2008 Honda Accord
By ughagain - June 14 - 5:01 amThought new tires put on at 55,000 miles were noisy ended up both rear wheel bearing assemblies were shot. Brother-in-law recognized this at 67,500 miles and replaced. Scarey to think how long I drove car not realizing this was problem. Not have parts available at car parts stores as they all said these should not be worn out. Googled and see others mention this problem. Honda need to make Accord owners aware of this major problem. Hope they get sued again!!! Car has 70,000 miles and on 3rd set of brakes. Brother-in-law did for $50 2nd set was $300 as on the road & no choice. Honda need to make Accord owners aware of this problem. Nissan Altima here I come...

By focusfanatic1 - October 23 - 7:01 pmI at one time was a die hard Honda fan. I owned a 1991 CRX, and a 1994 Civic. Both were solid dependable cars. I purchased a 2000 Accord new, and it turned out to be a lemon. I mean literally, I received a payout from Honda on a frequent problem. I decided in 2008 to give Honda another chance, after all, my previous cars were great. Should not have done it. I purchased a new 2008 Accord. Problems started with the transmitters having to be replaced, I needed new rear break pads and a new battery before the car hit 30K. The interior is cheap. The vinal on the console arm rest and door arm rest bubbles up when it is warm outside. Never again Honda, Im going elsewhere.

Disappointed in Honda - 2008 Honda Accord
By badhonda - August 27 - 9:06 amWorst car I have ever owned. Bought this car new and it developed a rattle in the first month. They added insulation around the speakers. Six month check-up required new brakes which I had to pay full cost. I later learned Honda had a brake problem with this car. Before the car was two years old the interior lights "burned out". At two years old the "seat belt light" came on. The dealership did not notice or correct . At three years old they checked the seat belt light and decided the air bag switch was defective and needed to be replace for $500+, at our cost. The air bags had were disabled this entire time (safety feature not working). I bought the Accord for quality. It is not!

Brakes, brakes and more brakes! - 2008 Honda Accord
By namip1972 - May 20 - 8:08 pmThis car goes through brakes like I go through shoes, but are 5x more expensive. Dealer claims its normal for the rear brakes to wear before the front...BS! Now theres a grrrrrrrrr noise when I start the car for which the dealer said will cost about $800 to fix (cant remember what he exactly said was wrong). Also, windows dont automatically go up all the way in cold weather. Further, the air-con is loud. Will never ever never buy a Honda again!!!!

By shawnamk - March 8 - 9:47 pmI am so upset with Honda and this car! This was my very first new car I have had. I went with a Honda because I wanted something reliable and long lasting. This is the complete opposite. I had same problem with brakes at 17,000 miles, had it in the shop b/c paint was chipping around windows and bumper. Last night it broke down and I had to get a jump at midnight in the middle of no where. Seriously my 2.5 year old car broke down?? Its now in the shop for that and also b/c my engine sounds crazy loud and sounds like its ticking. Dealer said the ticking and loud engine are normal. I need to get rid of this car so I guess I paid $15,000 to drive for 2.5 yrs. Dont BUY!!

Reoccuring loss of Power - 2008 Honda Accord
By sweetman2go - October 17 - 2:00 amThis is the 2nd Honda I have owned a 2008 Honda accord 2.4L cyl since 2008 and I have had a recurrent loss of power on high speeds every year.The problem occurs randomly, and loss power drops to the point that it wouldnt go beyond 5-10 mph even with my foot pressed down on the gas pedal, during this time NO Engine check light comes on ,this has lasted up to an hour. I have called Honda every year to tell them about this and taken the car to 3 different dealership, all telling me that since theres no engine code theres nothing they can do. I had the same problem 2 days ago. Honda is a piece crap and this is my very last Honda. I recommend do not buy an Accord

It will be gone - 2008 Honda Accord
By first & last - October 10 - 2:00 amThis is my first & LAST Honda. The VCM was noticeable soon after purchase and is only getting worse. Yes, I have been to the dealer multiple times and get the standard "normal" or "not noticed" response. The car surges even when on flat roads in cruise. In heavy traffic, it is dangerous. The drivablility is worse than my old cars were 30 years ago. Both front windows rattle as does the rear shelf-- which I padded myself eventually. I guess it was designed to allow even light drizzle to collect on the roof and empty on to the door panel.
