  • Honda just as expected, when I purchased. - 2008 Honda Accord

I have been buying hondas since the early 90s. 2008 Honda Accord EX-L Navigation, Bluetooth, leather fully loaded... Dont hestitate to buy this vehicle. If your a perfectionist then no vehicle is going to suit you needs, unless you get into big bucks. This is an economical and reliable vehicle. This was my primary concern of buying this car.. It is fun to drive and it is nice and tight from the steering down to the suspension. As always, Hondas reliablity..... Buy an american car and constantly worrying about check engine light, left rear window not working, sunroof stuck open, noise coming from left side rear of the car that just will not go away, and i could go on.

This is my first Honda and it will certainly be my last! I have a 2000 Camry and I thought the Accord would be at least as good as the Toyota, I was wrong. This car has 52,000 miles on it and has so many things wrong that I dont know where to begin. (1)the rear brakes had to be replaced at 32,000 miles (2)the headlights flicker (3) it dosnt even come close to the advertised highway mileage (4)the dashboard is made out of cheap plastic that scratches at the slightest touch(5)and worst of all, the leather seats are worn out and discolored even though it has had Honda brand leather conditioner applied every three months since new.

  • Sonata has it all over Accord - 2008 Honda Accord

Bought this Accord after my lease was up on my Hyundai Sonata. Seemed to be a great price and looked comparable to Sonata. Biggest mistake I ever made. The Accord is extremely uncomfortable over long trips, you can litterally feel every crack, bump and pit on the road. the interior fabric and trim is CHEAP( all mouldings around the doors are drooping and wont stay in place, seat fabric is cheap as well. This car is absolutely terrible in the snow,I would not reccomend driving it in the snow. the positives are the gas mileage and it has been reliable despite the discomforts. In My opinion the Sonata Is definately a much better value. Hyundai is the old Honda, and Honda is the old Hyundai

  • Brakes, brakes and more brakes! - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This car goes through brakes like I go through shoes, but are 5x more expensive. Dealer claims its normal for the rear brakes to wear before the front...BS! Now theres a grrrrrrrrr noise when I start the car for which the dealer said will cost about $800 to fix (cant remember what he exactly said was wrong). Also, windows dont automatically go up all the way in cold weather. Further, the air-con is loud. Will never ever never buy a Honda again!!!!

  • update on rear brakes - 2008 Honda Accord

I finally had to change my rear brakes at 18904 since the wear sensor was squeaking. No rotor turning (cutting) was needed (I never turn my rotors). I did the job myself with the appropriate Honda brakes (43022-TA0-A40) the new pads also have a spring clip to help separate the pads. Honda pads also come with M77 Molykote brake grease for the shims. I don’t like to use aftermarket brakes since the one time I did for my previous Honda my rotors warped. Since the class action suit for the rear brakes was over I tried to collect by sending a letter to Honda with documented proof of mileage and cost of brakes. Honda reimbursed me for the cost of brakes with shipping.

  • Never Again - 2008 Honda Accord

I owned a 1990 Honda and loved it - the style, the comfort, the ride! After putting almost 200,000 miles on my Maxima, I decided to return to Honda for better gas mileage. What a mistake. The seat is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever been in. I am constantly adjusting the controls to relieve my aching back. This is not good. Rather than being excited to have a newer vehicle, I don’t even want to drive it!

I am so upset with Honda and this car! This was my very first new car I have had. I went with a Honda because I wanted something reliable and long lasting. This is the complete opposite. I had same problem with brakes at 17,000 miles, had it in the shop b/c paint was chipping around windows and bumper. Last night it broke down and I had to get a jump at midnight in the middle of no where. Seriously my 2.5 year old car broke down?? Its now in the shop for that and also b/c my engine sounds crazy loud and sounds like its ticking. Dealer said the ticking and loud engine are normal. I need to get rid of this car so I guess I paid $15,000 to drive for 2.5 yrs. Dont BUY!!

  • its ok - 2008 Honda Accord

I came to this from a 2001 Maxima SE. Have put 59k in 2 years on it. Only repair has been the back brakes at 32k. The cons: in same driving environments, only averages 27-29 mpg with a 4cyl, compared to the Maxima that got 26-28 w/6cyl. Thought the Accord would do better than that. Front seats are not very comfortable. Didnt notice in the short test drives, but daily driving 2-3 hours a day results in discomfort. Interior seems to suffer from louder road noise than the Maxima. Stereo is not bad. Wasnt thrilled with the center dash, but its not horrible. The good: It does handle pretty well. When on 100% highway, I have gotten 32-35 mpg. I do like the body style of it.

  • My favorite Honda to date - 2008 Honda Accord

I have 25,000 miles on it. I did just have the rear brake pads replaced and the rotors resurfaced, which 50% will be reimbursed by the class action suit. Other than that, no problems. Plenty of power with the V6, no issues with V6. Road noise isnt any more than when I test drove it (and is not bad). Seats are not any less comfortable than when I test drove it (and are not bad). Radio controls are not any more confusing now than when I test drove it. Materials in dashboard are not any cheaper looking now than when I test drove it.
