This Year's Model Updates:

For the 1999 Honda Accord, coupes remain unchanged after their recent overhaul, but the sedans receive new seat fabric, and the LX and EX sedans now feature fold-away side mirrors.

Pros:
  • Good build-quality, spacious interior, peppy engine, and comfortable seats. We call it intelligent engineering.
Cons:
  • Popularity. Bad guys steal them.

  • Honda did it right - 1999 Honda Accord

The vehicle is fun to drive, very stylish, roomy and confortable. It has excellent view from all sides. Good mileage on the open road. Very spacious inside, and the trunk is large enough to handle large suitcases. Only one computer chip problem in nearly eight years, that the dealer was able to fix.

  • Great Car - 1999 Honda Accord

We have really enjoyed our reliable Honda. We have had a few minor electrical problems, like dash lights burning out, but, otherwise it has been great.

  • All ownership should be like this - 1999 Honda Accord

This is my second Accord. I purchased the car at the end of my 48 months lease. For what it is, it drives great. It inspires confidence on the road and the car is easy to position even over the limits. An ideal format for me and it is very roomy. I wouldnt be confortable in a smaller car like an A4 or 3-series. I had a few minor issues, but no unexpected out of pocket expense in 110000km. (except the tire jack that crashed with no reason)! Service from dealer (Blainville) is very good. Styling is contemporary and better than average for the class. I can only recommend.

  • gutless roadnoise - 1999 Honda Accord

interior functionality wonderful, exterior appearance fine, driveability deplorable. Extremely underpowered, intense road noise, you have to scream to talk and turn the radio full volume to hear anything AM. I have already replaced the battery which was not warranty-every other car has a 3-36,000 includes batteries? I had to buy mine!

  • Excellent car - 1999 Honda Accord

What a great car. Coming from a 300ZX, I was used to a sports car. My 2dr V6 coupe has the power of my old Z (and more) but the comfort and room of a full size car. Just turned over 60200 miles in 3 years, and have had almost no problems at all. Handles well for a sedan type car (with high performance sport tires -- ditch the Michelens), comfy to drive, looks good, decent power, and a great value. Removed the stock airbox and put in a KN cone type air filter system...the motor sounds great!!

  • Japan built accords last longer! - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

i bought my accord used, the ulev edition, which is built in japan. the transmission is only now, at 199,000 miles, is starting to slip a little, mostly due to old tranny fluid. american built hondas are the ones that are giving the company a bad rap. you cant build a japanese product outside of japan, it just wont work. wont buy another honda because they majority are built in the u.s. now, but will never rule out buying a used one after researching where the car was built.

  • Accord lives up to billing - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

My 2 1/2 year old Accord is excellent in reliability and dependability. Having driven a friends newer Accord 6cyl I noticed my 1999 isnt quite as peppy. It really is a great car though. Ill buy another one. (in about 7 years)

  • what is with power lock solenoids ? - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

It is a great car overall. However, as soon as the warranty expired on my Honda 99, the power lock solenoids started to go bad one by one. I thought it was just a sticky solenoid. But, now, I have all four solenoids that are inop. Has anyone else experienced this ? What is the estimated cost to replace these ?

  • Awesome Car - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive put 3000 miles on my 99 Accord ex 5 speed. Ive filled it up probably 5 times. Gets great gas mileage. I usually take first gear all the way to 6K RPM, and I still get around 25 MPG in the city. If your planning on buying an Accord, go with the 5 speed manual. A manual is so much more fun to drive. Car is pretty quick off the line too for a 4 cylinder. The only problem Im having right now is the timing belt. I hear a constant ticking in my engine. No major problems though. Trunk is the biggest Ive ever seen. This car was def worth the MSRP of $23000 back in 99. Hondas last forever

  • BEST VALUE - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my 4th Honda Accord and I have 6 Hondas total. Since my 1991 Honda Accord, we have never seen the dealer for any repair jobs. Only for maintenance work. Hondas are great cars, and the Accord remains on my list every single year.
