A new steering wheel and instrument panel freshen the Explorer's interior. New wheels are the only exterior changes. Explorers gain four-wheel antilock brakes that work in both two- and four-wheel-drive modes.

By DKOVACHJR - November 22 - 1:37 amI just bought my 2nd 93 explorer the first I trade for a sedan and missed my truck finally after 2 yrs of trying to find one that i could afford with money being tight i found one i use mine for haul the family and responding to fire calls the 4.0 does a decent job getting to the station when the tones drop even though she may not be fast the tourque makes up for it I have pulled plenty of down trees out of the roadway and have no doubt that what i hook up to she will pull it. Beware if the 4x4 is not used the power motor for it sticks and you may need to replace it or have someone hold the button and you get under your truck with a hammer and knock on the motor

At 209,000+ Miles, Still a Great Car - 1993 Ford Explorer
By explorereb98 - May 18 - 2:58 pmMy parents gave me this car as a graduation gift in 2004 and it had 146,000 miles at the time. It was a great car for me and it took everything I threw at it. It never left me stranded and other than the usual mechanical issues that come with a car with around 150,000 miles, it was all in all a great car. I just traded it in for a 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and hope that this one is as good as the other.

Best Vehicle Ive ever had - 1993 Ford Explorer
By Erik93 - June 29 - 2:00 amSimply put...a great SUV. Ive had my truck for ten years now and have NEVER had a problem. Ive had to replace the starter once. 160,000 miles and its still going strong. As for the transmission problems if you replace your tansmission fluid every 30,000 to 40,000 miles there is no problem. The only people that Ive heard of that have problems ar those that have never or rarely replaced their tranny fluid. I love this truck and wish I could buy it all over again.

Its with a heavy heart that I say good-bye to an old friend who has been with me through so many adventures. Ford can be proud of their Explorer. Time and time again I found myself driving through several feet of snow with ease and confidence. Even as the years passed and the miles mounted, my Explorer was ready for any challege. The vehicle is solid, runs smooth, has good power. I often wonder why Ford had to put a V8 in tghe newer Explorers? What do people need with all that power? I cant think of anything one would do with a V8 that the old V6 couldnt do with ease. Way to go Ford!
