By Brettski - March 29 - 7:50 amJust plain awesome. Every electronic feature you could ever need. Very fast with tons of "pick up". 270 horses is more than enough, trust me. Well built and a ton of fun to drive.

Best FWD sport sedan out there! - 2005 Acura TL

Being from the Midwest, and only having one car, RWD wasnt an option since we get something called snow which doesnt agree with RWD cars too well. Thus, I settled on the TL, and dont think I would have been happier w/ any other car. Acceleration is very linear, and the TL is extremely stable at 80 mph, and fairly quite at such speeds, which could be a dangerous combination. Torque steer is almost never an issue. Great sound system, excellent interior amenities, exceptional fuel economy (Ive gotten 33 on some highway jaunts, although around town can be disappointing). If only the 09 TL looked as suave, Id get that instead of an 08 TypeS

Would Buy Again - 2005 Acura TL
By VeniceCA - February 13 - 2:21 pmBought new in March 2005. Very good looking car in and out (better in my opinion than the new model). Very reliable, only repair was A/C at 25k miles. Love the big touchscreen nav system that you can operate while moving, new models may have better graphics but non-touchscreen is MUCH less convenient. Performance is decent, needs more low end power and the transmission is slow to shift. Handling is good, but nose scrapes too much on driveway inclines, which reduces confidence in maneuvering and turning radius is about 4 feet too wide.

My 4th Acura (2nd TL) - 2005 Acura TL
By Ken in LA - February 3 - 10:33 pmIm an Acura guy, no doubt about it. My last car was a 2002 TL Type S. What a car!! I was nervous changing to the 2005 TL, thinking there was no way to match up. Ive been pleasantly surprised. The 2005 is a bit tighter on the road, and the new Blue Tooth, voice activated NAV features are great!! If you want a FUN car to drive, one thats reliable, one that will have people looking your way, and one thats still very practical (trunk space, 4 adult seating, decent mileage), go with the TL.

Great Luxury/Upscale sports sedan - 2005 Acura TL
By SD - February 2 - 6:46 pmA very impressive car for the money. I looked at the Audi A4 and BMW 3s and the TL won me over with its gorgeous interior, its power and of course its price. I reckon a BMW as loaded as the TL would cost about 8-10K more. The TL is also very roomy inside (unlike the other two). The sound system is fantastic and everything about this car feels solid. No problem so far but I have only had the car for a month. I recently got 32 mpg on the highway at 65 mph average. In fully automatic mode, acceleration often does not meet expectations but switch to the semi-manual mode and it is like driving a different car, with the 270hp right there for you to enjoy!

I cant wait to get a new car - 2005 Acura TL
By Omajacks - January 27 - 11:16 pmI bought an Acura TL in Jan of 04. I thought the car was great when I first got it. Now after owning it for about a year I have noticed some issues with the car one is torque stear. and one big thing for me is the backend has a tendancy to be soft around corners its so lite back there that it kind of flops around in quick turns. One other complaint I have is a constant vibration under the driver floorboard. Good things about the car are sound system is great and its ergonomically pleasing. Over all this car would be good in the south and california but if you live in the north like me find something with a little more ground clearance. Oh one last complant the front end scrapes everything.

Excellent Overall Package - 2005 Acura TL
By Illinois Flatlander - January 17 - 12:38 amI have had this car for 3 1/2 problem free years and believe that it is a great value for its price. I get 20 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway which is very acceptable for a car with this size engine and its performance. The experience with the dealership in regards to service has been better than it has been with any other brand vehicle I had in the past.

The nav system is tied into the radio/CD - 2005 Acura TL
By jzucco - January 6 - 11:28 amI love the car but it is now 2009 and the nav system no longer works. H2O damage most likely due to condensation sense it is in the trunk. Now that the nav no longer works my entire console is worthless. No DVD/CD, radio works but dont know the station. Only solution from Acura is to purchase a new 3k nav system. I would not buy this or any vehicle that ties all these system together like this because there is no aftermarket solution and you are stuck with a 3k bill just to listen to a DVD!! I am not happy. I filed a complaint with Acura but they do not have a solution. This is a severe design flaw!
